LOVE THIS SERGER

I have owned a previous serger and was looking for one that had more stitch options, I bought this one and after taking an instructional lesson at the store I bought it from, find it is a GREAT machine. I am anxious to purchase additional feet so I can do even more with it. I think that there must have been a few batches of machines that had problems, as the lady in the class with me had tension problems and the store promptly exchanged it for her, but mine works great and her new one works great! I am a 40 + year sewer and for the price, I think this is a great machine. Time will tell how it works over lots of use! But, I figure, it does what I want now and it DOES have a warranty if it doesn't work the way it should!!

Not so good....

The quality of this serger is very poor. The numbered stickers on the tension dials are peeling off. I've owned this machine for 5 days. It will be returned. I have owned other brand machines even a singer. There are numerous typing errors in the manual and picture quality is very poor. In the long run I think quality of a machine is more important than price.

Good little work horse

I've had this machine for about 10 months now. I am so pleased with it!!! I've worked on sergers all across the country in different theatre costume shops. Industrials to home machines. I was truly surprised. It's a good little work horse. I've put it through it's paces. I sew costumes for a living. It's pretty brilliant. My one suggestion, read the manual. I work at a Joanns and sell a lot of these machines. Some come back, but it's usually because people are impatient and do not read the manual. Read it. If you don't understand it, get the dvd or someone that does. It's well worth the money.

Manual

I too like this serger. This is my first and figured out on my own that i needed to re-thread after the manufacture had threaded. It kept breaking. But once i rethreaded it was fine. My only complaint is the MANUAL. It is not a good book to rely on. First timers, you need to spend more money to get a better book to teach or refer back to. I didnt find it that difficult to thread other than some parts are alittle difficult to reach in.

Be prepared!

I am very happy with this serger. I always keep scraps around to help adjust the tension (which can take a few tries). The only problem I have had is in finding replacement knives. I recommend having an extra set, as I have not been able to find them locally (including JoAnn). So far the best place I have found them is on E-bay.

Great serger for the price

I've now had this for almost a year now. Just love it. Using it way more than I expected. Threading is easy, once you understand the concept. Tension also ok once you understand effect on each thread. I do recommend this if you can't afford a Babylock Evolve.

Always read the manual!

When I first purchased the machine and ran a test stitch, it worked wonderfully. And then the second thread, indicated in (Yellow) broke. I then re-threaded the machine and again it broke. In my frustration my first assumption was, the product was faulty. I was wrong... Being a stubborn (do it yourselfer) and usually being able to figure out everything on my own. I did not read the manual. Enormous Mistake! Apparently, I missed the step where you pass the thread behind and over the top of left looper 9A a small step. However, is very critical. Before you blame anything on the product or manufacturer, remember the Golden Rule- (Always Read the Manual)! The Machine is Excellent! It works beautifully!

Serging in South Jersey and Loving It

Got for $199 on sale at Joann's! I LOVE IT! Took me awhile to figure out the tension, start with their suggested tension #'s and adjust till you get the perfect stitch. Once you have it, write it down, so you don't forget it. My daughter changed the dials on me and I had to figure it out again. Threading is a snap, just follow the directions. Great finished seams on the outfits I'm making for my daughter, just what I was looking for. BUY IT, YOU'LL LOVE IT TOO!
