Shades for sale

Just like an old car I'd be willing to sell the parts that work. The two glass shades I have I would be willing to sell. The rest is POC. They lasted just long enough for the warranty. Love the looks and the light but the quality must not be good to not last any longer than two years.

A real POS

Don't waste your time with this piece of crap. Priced way to high, quality sucks, bulbs burn out way to often. Even when new it was just a light with a bright bulb. Go to Home Depot and get a lamp rated up to 150 watt bulb for 1/4 of the price and get a lamp that will last for decades instead of weeks.

Too Bright

Stable with heavy base. Glass shade not very attractive and too heavy for safety. Screws do not secure shade safely. Have to return it primarily because my eyes cannot take so much brightness. I would reconsider keeping it if it had a dimmer, and a more attractive shade.

hard to find replacement parts

I bought this lamp a few years ago. it worked great for the first year. However it was top heavy and kept on falling over. One time the lampshade broke, and I haven't been able to find a replacement. Also about 6 months ago the screws stopped holding so it slips and therefore I can only leave it in the low position.

screws stripped

I am so glad to find this site! I was given this lamp 2 years ago for Christmas, and within weeks the screws stripped. I can't get it to stay up to a level where I can use it. Unlike other reviewer who used duct tape, I just stuck it in a corner an haven't used it. Thanks for the duct tape tip! Where do we go to get this fixed?? THis came from Joann's, but they claimed I had to go back to OTT to get it fixed. It's been so long now I'm sure I'm just stuck with it.

Light is ok. Price too high for quality. The screws stripped out after a few months. So it won't adjust up and down anymore. The screw that holds shade on broke off. Duct tape really looks good. This style needs more work from company,as to durablity.

Is it the bulb, or the ballast?

I had my lamp for about a year, use it maybe 2 hours a night. Not 10,000 hours as the bulb says. Maybe it is the ballast. But I can't find a replacement bulb. Cardelle Lighting in Pittsburgh stopped carrying the Ott lamps -- gee I wonder why??

Don't buy!!!!!

This lamp is a rip-off. While a nice lamp, you cannot get replacement bulbs except possibly online and then the price is about $35.00 per bulb. Save your money and buy something useful!
