Love the idea of the size of this cutting mat to protect my dining room table while i work, but it cracked the very first time i used it. So sad. I am going to try to exchange it. I did not however have a problem with the measuremtns being off... they lines up with my ruler perfectly.
The new mat is not as accurate as the old mat I also own. The brown grid marks are off by an 1/8 of an inch by the time I reach 36 inches. I was very disappointed.
The new mat, with the brown lettering is so cheap. Joann's I am so unhappy with you. It is maybe a third of the thickness as my old one, (black letting), which unfortunately i threw out when i bought this new one. This new one scars and gouges with normal rotary cutting. I estimate it to last maybe three months. it is so cheap, dont bother. fWas the same price as the older and better matt. Joann, dont you think we sewers will notice? We are not idiots.
I've had my mat for about 3 years now and truly do love it. I just wish the lines did not disappear on the lines I use most. Over all it is great. I love the craft table the best since it is the perfect height. would I purchase another mat? Probably, just check to make sure the lines are correct. No wonder my quilt cuts do not always work out.
Love the size but the lines came off from the first use. thankgoodness my quilt teacher Janelle recommend we learn to cut our fabric not dependent on the cutting mat lines. I did not realize the measurements on the cutting boards could be flawed. thank you joann for your great return policy.
I used this to cut fabric for my wifes quilt. When the material came out to be incorrect, I checked the mat measurements with a yard stick. 35 " was 35 & 5/8". I returned it to Joann's and they gave me $35 in store credit.
I can not say enough good things about this mat...it fits my sewing table perfect...more than 1 person can work off this table at a time...makes pinning a breeze...non slip keep's my fabric stable...I plan on buying another 1 in case they quit making them...I use mine daily...
This mat is OK for cutting paper to wrap Christmas gifts, but very little else. It is NOT self healing and fabric fibers stick in the grooves. I would not buy it again.
