Love to quilt but hate to cut? The AccuQuilt® GO! Fabric Cutter is a fast and precise fabric cutting system that allows quilters to cut fabrics as much as 90% faster than scissors or rotary cutting. You can cut an entire quilt in minutes: the number of layers you can cut at one time depends only on the thickness of the material! Its patented revolutionary portable design allows you to carry and cut wherever you go: to classes; retreats; guild meetings and quilting bees. Included with the cutter is a great value die plus a cutting mat so you are ready to start quilting right out of the box. The die offers three shapes that work together for a multitude of projects: Square (4-1/2''); Square (2-1/2''); Half Square(2'') and a Finished Triangle (cuts four shapes). Directions for projects and using the dies is included.
After trying out my new Go cutter and then reading the reviews, I can see why the new quilters and those with some physical limitations are giving this machine such high marks. Those of us with experience and skill using rotary cutters won't find this machine as useful, and I think it does waste fabric. I'm cutting out a denim and flannel rag quilt (upcycling old jeans) and can only do one layer of that heavy denim at a time. But the HUGE benefit is in the edges of the pieces, which are pre clipped by the die rather than having to do it all with scissors after sewing the quilt together. This alone makes the machine and dies worth their weight in gold. I also am anxious to try the half-square triangles that the machine cuts out.
I love this so much! Before I got it I had all but quit quilting because I could not cut the pieces out straight, without that the whole quilt is a whoky mess. It has been such a blessing! We buy one when we can! I can't wait to get a new one! God bless you all and thank you from the bottom of my young heart I was disable just after I turned 30 this has been a blessing!
I've had this for several months and can only say that I'm glad that I got it on sale. One of the dies ($75) gets stuck 1/2 way through the machine and I can't use it. Several calls to customer service has not resolved the issue. There is a lot of fabric waste when cutting with this compared to using your rotary cutter, so I can't say that I will use it often, especially with quilting fabric now running $10 to $14 a yard. I can see that my main use for this will be cutting scraps of fabrics into strips for scrap quilts and tote bags.
It is wonderful to know all my pieces are cut perfectly! Makes quilting so much more enjoyable for me. Eases pain in my back, because I don't have to stand as long and labor over the table. Love it!
omg, it is beyond fabulous!!! just ordered a bunch of dies and mats! so excited!!!
Leaving for USA so I can send the accuquilt to it's repair destination. With so many in Canada being sold I would have imagined a Canadian Service area would be available. Love the machine but if it costs me more to ship for repair then I'll have to rethink the purchase of the 'studio'
Ditto to all of the previous reviews! LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS CUTTER!
Just reread the size of the mat and Die and does not say it includes the dvd Still wondering why the difference
