SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Premier Yarns:
    • Deborah Norville Serenity Chunky Prints (100g/109 yds), * Leaves – 6 balls (A)
    • Deborah Norville Serenity Chunky Solids (100g/109 yds), * Red Ochre – 3 balls (B) & Fudge – 3 balls (C)
  • Needles: US Size 101⁄2 (6.5 mm) straight needles, 40” circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge

  • Stitch marker
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • Tape measure

MEASUREMENTS:

45" x 45”

GAUGE:

12 sts x 16 rows = 4” in St st
Save time, check gauge.

DIRECTIONS:

Color B Square (make 8) With B and straight needles, cast on 56 sts.
Set-up row (WS): P28, place marker (pm), purl to end.

Stripe 1 Row 1 (RS): Knit to 2 sts bef marker, ssk, slip marker (sl m), k2tog, knit to end – 2 sts dec’d. Row 2: Purl. Row 3: Rep Row 1. Row 4: Knit.

Stripe 2
With A, work Rows 1-4 as for Stripe 1.

Stripes 3-12
Rep Stripes 1-2 – 8 sts rem.

Final Stripe
Work as for Stripe 1 – 4 sts rem. Bind off as follows: Ssk, k2tog, pass k2tog st over ssk st. Fasten off rem st on needle.

Color C Square (make 8) Work as for Color B Square, substituting C for B.

Finishing Quadrant (make 4)
Arrange 2 Color B squares and 2 Color C squares, so the Final Stripe/bind-off points meet in the middle, and Color A/C squares are opposite each other diagonally, and Color B/C squares are opposite each other diagonally. Sew edges of squares together. Arrange Quadrants in 2 x 2 grid. Sew edges of quadrants together.
Edging
With circular needle, RS facing, color A, beg at any corner, pick up and knit 100 sts along edge.
Row 1 (WS): Knit
Row 2: K1, m1, knit to last st, m1, k1 – 2 sts inc’d.
Rep Rows 1-2, 3 more times – 108 sts. Bind off all sts over next WS row. Rep Edging on rem 3 sides of Lapghan. Sew sides of edging tog. Weave in ends.
