Additional Information

  • 7/8 yd cotton print fabric
  • 2/3 yd green cotton solid fabric: for band & napkins
  • 1/2 yd fusible fleece
  • 1/4 yd black cotton solid for applique
  • 1 yd HeatnBond® Lite fusible web
  • AccuQuilt Go!® Fabric Cutter
    Round flower die
  • Black embroidery thread
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine
  • Iron, pressing surface
DIRECTIONS: RS = Right side(s) WS = Wrong side(s)
1. From print fabric, cut four 14"x18" pieces for place mats. From green solid, cut two 18"x18" pieces for napkins. From fleece, cut two 14"x18" pieces.

2. Fuse HeatnBond® to back of leftover green fabric. Cut two 5"x14" pieces.

3. Fuse one 5"x14" piece to side of one 14"x18" print fabric. Repeat to make two.

4. Fuse HeatnBond® on back of black fabric.

5. Cut design pieces with AccuQuilt Go!® Fabric Cutter and fuse to green strip.

6. Satin stitch around design pieces and along edge of green fabric, where it joins the place mat fabric.

7. Fuse fleece to WS of two 14"x18" pieces.

8. With RS together, pin front and back of place mat together. Sew, using 1/2" seam, leaving space to turn.

9. Trim corners, turn right side out. Press.

10. Top stitch around edge. Stitch-in-the-ditch close to satin stitch along edge of green strip.
