Very Sturdy, Great Box

Reviewer: Susan, 04/18/2013

I originally bought this box and then three of the cheaper satchel single compartments which is almost the same size and cheaper. Like the other reviewers, I took out the thread inserts as they didn't fit my embroidery mini spools at all. I made my own dividers and each box now holds somewhere around 50 mini spools. I use three for embroidery thread and one to hold all my embroidery hoops. I have carried them back and forth to my flea market booth for several years. I just wish they had slots on the sides and dividers to fit!!!

Works for Me

Reviewer: Sally, 08/14/2012

I bought this on sale, otherwise there is no way I would have paid $30 for it. I own several other Super Satchels and really like the thread box. I store my bobbins underneath the thread spools and the box still closes and latches properly. When I fill this one up, I will buy another. On sale, of course. ;-)

Art Bin Thread Box

Reviewer: Rita, 09/01/2011

I bought my first one a few months ago and loveed it so much that I went back and bought 2 more and as soon as I get back to Joann's I will buy another. I live in between two stores and it is 20 miles either way but worth the trip as I have filled 3 of them with Mettler. Just wish I could find out where they sell the Mettler and I would fill 2 more. They stack beautifully on my shelf and I have hade them in and out countless times and had no trouble with them Several years ago I bought the ones for Sulky thread and they really fell apart. I am more than pleased with these.

what a peice of junk

a few days after i had it i was carrying it and the handle broke and spilled all of my thread out and just keeps breaking finaly i had to throw it away. that was 26 dollers for greef and frustration.

Junk

Reviewer: Pat, 12/12/2009

I have had this product for 2 days and already the box is being taped. I opened it 3 times, once to examine it, once to fill it with my threads and the 3rd time it was broken. The box has not been dropped to cause a corner to break off in pieces. I'm very disappointed with the quality of this product. The overall design was what I was looking for, but for someone that was looking to be able to take my sewing supplies with me when I travel I'd expect the product to handle being moved and stored.

Not bad, but not exactly what I wanted.

Reviewer: Tiffany, 06/14/2009

I purchased this thread box when I found it on sale, because I had "outgrown" a smaller box I purchased previously. I love the design of the box overall, however, like a few other reviewers have said, the spacing of the spindles is best suited to smaller embroidery-type spools. I have a lot of Coats & Clark thread, and I had to space them on every other spindle in order for them to fit. That said, I would still buy it again, as it is well-made and is definitely the most functional thread box I've owned yet.

not for coats and clark type threads...

Reviewer: ctgardengirl, 04/27/2009

I bought my first thread box on sale (full price is too much) and it is fine for Mettler and similar sized threads. But for the fatter Coats and Clark, I agree with the other reviewer - you can use only every other spindle - such a waste. The quality of the box is better than a similar one I purchased for less at a local crafts store. Closes better, secures better, sturdier. Overall, I would buy this again, since I'm going with Mettler threads in the future.

Great to have...

I bought the sewing satchel because it looked like the super satchel (9000AB) with my discount coupon. At the time the super satchel was not on sale. I took out the thread trays and it works perfect for my scrap paper, and the teeth that are on the sides to hold the thread trays are great to use to hold my tons of ribbon in an orderly way!! I am wondering why the big price difference between the 9000AB and this one? This one seems to be constructed exactly, except for the teeth on the sides that hold the sewing trays..... Either which one is on sale I by as it is greatly constructed and very sturdy going to retreats, however they stack nicely at home, also. You will definitely want more than just one when you try it to see!!
