SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Bernat&® Satin (Solids 3.5 oz, Ombres 2.8 oz):
    Soft Fern, Loyal Royal or Maitai
    Mini Case: 1 ball
    Regular Case: 1 ball
  • Sizes U.S. 5 and U.S. 10 knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Cable needle
  • Pair of D-rings 3/4" wide
  • Small patch of hook & loop tape
  • Scissors
  • Tape measure

DIRECTIONS:

MEASUREMENTS

Mini case: To fit electronic device 2" by 3-3/4" by 1/2".
Regular case: To fit electronic device 2-1/2" by 4-1/4" by 3/4".

GAUGE

22 sts and 28 rows = 4" with smaller needles in stocking st.

The instructions are written for smaller size. If changes are necessary for larger size the instructions will be written thus ( ).

FRONT
Beg at top edge, with smaller needles cast on 13 (17) sts.
**Knit 3 rows, noting first row is WS.
***Change to larger needles and knit 1 row.

Proceed in Twist Pat as follows:
1st row: (WS). P2. *Slip next st onto cable needle and leave at back of work. P1. P1 from cable needle. Rep from * to last st. P1.
2nd row: K2. *Slip next st onto cable needle and leave at front of work. K1. K1 from cable needle. Rep from * to last st. K1.
Last 2 rows form Twist Pat.**

Cont in pat until work from beg measures 3-1/2" (4), ending with WS facing for next row.
Change to smaller needles and pat 1 row. Cast off knitwise.

BACK
Note: (yfwd) twice counts as 2 sts.
Beg at edge of flap, with smaller needles, cast on 13 (17) sts.
Work from ** to ** as given for Front.
Cont in pat until work from beg measures 1-3/4" (2)", ending with WS facing for next row.
Change to smaller needles and pat 1 row.
Next row: (RS). Knit, dec 3 sts evenly across. 10 (14) sts.
Knit 2 rows.

Opening for Jack: Next row: (WS). K1 (5). K2tog. (yfwd) twice. Sl1. K1. psso. Knit to end of row.
Next row: K6. (K1. P1). Knit to end of row.
Next row: Knit, inc 3 sts evenly across. 13 (17) sts. Place marker at each end of last row.
Work from *** to ** as given for Front.
Cont in pat until work from marked row measures 3-1/2" (4)", ending with WS facing for next row.
