Will they be making mango again? I wanted to make a baby blanket for my grandson to be with aqua and orange and now I here it was discontinued. Why!
I used this yarn for years and loved it. fast and easy to use. It made beautiful blankets, sweaters, booties, and hats. I just pulled out some that I have had for 2 or 3 years and noticed that the old yarn had 5 os and 395 yarn. It is now 3.5 oz. I also have the same yarn in "SATIN" but not enough to finish a large project. I am wondering if that has been discontinued? I would appreciate any information about this. Happy Chroching
Love this yarn! The only one to use for baby projects. The softest I've found on the market. Make sure you machine wash and dry to retain softness.
This yarn feels soft until it is washed. I washed in Ivory flakes and air dried. Stiff and shredded after washing, Crocheted baby blanket.
I agree with several other posters - this yarn splits horribly. It is very soft and has a nice sheen. I just started my project (baby afghan) so I can't say whether I'll encounter any cuts in the yarn, however I "have" with other Bernat (Natural Alpaca) I've been knitting with. Overall, it's pretty good, but I also agree, the quality of Bernat's yarns has gone down.
I LOVE this yarn and was so excited that they came out in solid colors that actually matched colors in the varigated yarn! Makes such a pretty blanket or baby cap using all the colors and they were REAL colors, not the whimpy pink and blue. But, of course, as soon as a fabulous color (Mango) comes in to play, next thing you know it's discontinued! Really? I wilsh they would say "limited supply right at the beginnign so you coulod stock up.
Just finished a baby afghan in Sky (blue), color not seen here, but I was disappointed in the quality -- splits and ties three times from different skeins! I have been knitting for over 50 years and am VERY surprised at Bernat -- what happened to your QUALITY?? The yarn is very soft and the project looked nice, but I have two more afghans to make, and am hesitant to buy this yarn! All my projects are for baby boys -- which there was a bigger choice of colors!
I love this yarn! I use it all the time for just about all of my baby projects and even other things I've made. This yarn is NOT ment to be pulled from the center!! Remove the wrapper and find the end, let it roll off freely. If you're having trouble trying to find the middle, then DON'T keep trying. This is the softest and most beautiful baby yarn I've even worked with and I've been knitting and crocheting for over 52 years.
