Celebrate Valentine’s Day with this DIY Dessert Table
Valentine’s day and sweet treats go hand in hand, so it’s only natural to want to set up a dessert bar full of sweet treats to celebrate. Today I will share how I created the perfect Valentine’s day sweets table complete with triple color swirl cupcakes and color dipped chocolate chip cookies. Hey, everyone! It’s Kara from A Kailo Chic Life and I am going to share my tips for on making awesome desserts for Valentine’s Day.
To get the ultimate sweet table setup, you first need to think of a color scheme. Naturally, I went with red, turquoise, and shades of pink. Once I had the color scheme set, I started on the baked goods.
I have always wanted to try a multi-colored iced cupcake but always found it too complicated to place all those icing bags into each other. So when I found the Wilton three compartment coupler, I was excited to give it a try.
I just followed the directions on the package and created a jumbo swirl piping bag filled with light pink, hot pink, and mint blue icing. I iced cupcakes with a regular swirl and also a fun multi color spiked look.
Next up were the chocolate chip cookies. I gave this a Valentine’s Day makeover by dipping the cookies in melted Wilton candy melts in shade of pink and red. Then I topped them with sprinkles and gum paste flowers.
The rest of the table was filled out with plates of macarons, color dipped pretzels and marshmallow hearts.
For decorations, I used several shades of pink and red yarn to create large pom poms and then tied them to a long piece of yarn for a bunting to hang behind the table. I also used spray painted paper mache boxes turned into macarons to add a sweet, whimsical touch to the table. A sign declaring LOVE finished off the table and made it the perfect sweet table for your Valentine’s day party.
I hope I helped give you some ideas to take your Valentine’s party to the next level. What other sweets do you like to make for Valentine’s day?
