Christmas Tree Brownies Made Three Ways

Making fun foods with my kids is my favorite activity during the holidays. Things like “three ways to make Christmas Tree Brownies” are what I put in the advent calendar. I get special time with them and they get a sugar rush. Win, win. Hi! I’m Kim Byers of The Celebration Shoppe. Let’s get crafty and I’ll teach you how to make all three of these sweet treats!

We’ll start with my favorite, cupcake wrapper Christmas tree brownies. These are super easy to make and my kids loved them almost as much as the traditional triangle shaped Christmas tree brownies. I even made a little video!

But before we get too far, let’s talk supplies. You’ll want to hop over to your local Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores or go online for these fun food craft supplies:
Wilton Cookie Pan (perfect for shaped brownies)
Wilton Icing (green, white)
Wilton Candy Decorations and Sprinkles
• Wilton Green Cupcake Wrappers (available in-stores)
• Peppermint Candy Canes
• Stick Pretzels
• Powdered Sugar
• Brownie Ingredients or Mix
Circle Cookie Cutter and/or Butter Knife
• Optional: Clear ruler, wax paper (available in-stores)

Easy steps for making cupcake wrapper Christmas tree brownies:
1. Bake – bake brownies in a shallow cookie pan. Allow to cool completely.

2. Cut – use a circle cookie cutter to cut out brownies.

3. Decorate – fold green cupcake wrapper. Insert pretzel in middle of the circle. Top with a paper tree. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Second, let’s make traditional Christmas tree brownies. These are the perfect kid fun food craft because they get to go sprinkle crazy.

Easy steps for making traditional Christmas tree brownies:
1. Bake – bake brownies in a shallow cookie pan. Allow to cool completely.

2. Cut – use a ruler and a butter knife (damp with water between cuts) to cut triangles.

3. Decorate – insert small candy cane (break off at curve). Decorate with icing. Sprinkle with candies.

And third, peppermint Christmas tree brownies. I love the simple white look, and candidly the taste! These are pretty much the same as the traditional brownie, except with white icing, white sprinkles, and crushed peppermint.
