Hey, Lovelies! Happy New Year! I am celebrating with this lovely DIY confetti poppers. Emily here from B. Lovely Events and party poppers are a fun holiday tradition. What’s better than seeing confetti fly in the air when it is time to celebrate?! These DIY New Year’s party poppers are quick and easy to make, and the perfect way to bring in the New Year. Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores has everything you need to put these pretties together.

Here is what you need for your DIY New Year’s Eve Confetti Poppers:
• Silver Linen Scrapbook Paper (available in-stores)
• Black Scrapbook Paper (available in-stores)
• White Scrapbook Paper (available in-stores)
• Silver Star Scrapbook Paper (available in-stores)
• Black Acrylic Paint
• Sponge Brush
• Glue Sticks
• Silver Cake Sparkles
• Wilton Treat Pops
• Hole Punch
• Circle Hole Punch

To begin, take the sticks of the treat pops out and paint them with black paint. Be sure to lay something down so you don’t get any paint on your tables or counter tops.

Then grab your black paper and the medium round hole punch and punch circles in the entire piece. Gather them in a small bowl.

It’s easiest to do one row at a time and then follow it up with a regular hole punch. Once a row is done, cut it from the paper and start again.

Continue this step with the white and silver line scrapbook paper and gather all of the circles in a bowl. Add the silver cake sparkles to the mix.

Now you can be creative. Hop on your computer’s word document program and type out whatever saying you want to put on the front of your poppers. I went with Happy New Year to keep things festive but really anything could work, 3,2,1, Let the ball drop, welcome 2017, you name it! I suggest 40 font for the perfect fit the front of the poppers. The more words, the smaller the font, though.

Print the sayings you chose on regular or card stock paper, and then cut the saying out. Grab the cut out saying, and your glue sticks to glue it to the silver star paper. Cut the silver star paper after so it makes a border around the saying.

Measure the silver linen paper to fit around the treat pop at length. It’s about 3-4” long and 4-5” wide. Secure the two ends of the paper with your glue stick.

Then glue the saying you chose to the front of the popper. Once the poppers’ sticks have dried, add them back to the poppers. Add in confetti and 3, 2, 1….POP, you’re done!
