DIY Word of the Year Clock
At the end of every year, my husband and I evaluate how we did that year with the goals we set. I choose a “Word of the Year,” with the goal that my life would reflect that word by the end of 365 days.
Well, 2017 I have chosen the word INVEST! I want to invest in my kids, my business, my ministry and a few key relationships in my life. I also like to keep my word on the forefront of my brain and usually find a creative way to display it.
Here are my last two year’s words…

Last year I just used my Minc machine and gold foiled the word and popped it into a frame.
Hi! I’m Beckie Farrant from Infarrantly Creative and this year I decided to make a “Word of the Year” clock with my new word INVEST.
Jo-Ann carries a new line of clock bases in their wood section. I picked up this half gray half wood tone base.
I wanted a little color to it so I taped it off with Scotch Blue painter’s tape and spray painted it with Krylon Sea Glass spray paint.
I found these little numbers in the same wood section and spray painted them with Krylon Coral Isle. Then all I had to do was hot glue the numbers in place. TIP: If you don’t want to spend the extra money on the numbers, you could use the numbers that come with the clock mechanism kit and paint them the color of your choosing.
Next, I popped the clock mechanism in place. Make sure you measure the depth of your clock base to get the right size mechanism. Or else you will be making another Jo-Ann run. Not that I know anything about that!
Next, I used my Silhouette machine to cut vinyl letters of my word, “Invest” in the Blingtastic Font. Using transfer tape I adhered it to the clock base.
It was such a quick and easy project and I hung it at my desk, which is where I spend hours a day. Do you choose a word of the year? If so, what is your word?
