DIY Yarn Wrapped Wire Flowers
Some people see a ball of yarn and think “I’ll knit a sweater.” I can certainly see the appeal – who doesn’t love a handmade sweater?
For me, I see a ball of yarn and think of all the other crafty things you can do with it …like create these easy, wire wrapped flowers! They are such a fun addition to your home and they won’t need any water. It’s a win-win! Let me, Damask Love; show you just how easily you can create your wire wrapped yarn flowers.
Grab two lengths of wire and add a bit of hot glue to the end while holding them together.
While the glue is still hot, tightly wrap some yarn around the wire. This will keep the yarn in place as you continue to wrap it up the wire. Continue wrapping the yarn up the wire to create a flower stem. One you reach the end of the wire, add more glue and wrap the yarn around it to secure into place.
Cut three small leaf shapes from green felt, then use hot glue to adhere them around the top of the yarn wrapped wire.
Use the pom-pom maker to create a large pom-pom with the Sweet Roll yarn. The great thing about using Sweet Roll yarn is that the colors shifts throughout so you can create lots of different color flowers will one roll of yarn!
Use hot glue to adhere the pom-pom to the top of the wire stem and felt leaves.
