Earn Brownie Points with the Best Teacher Gifts

Teacher Gift

My boys just started a new school and between us, I want to get in good with their teachers! In all seriousness, I so appreciate the men and women that teach my boys every day. I always give teacher gifts and this year is no exception. Let me show you the cutest thing I made for my youngest son’s teacher! Hi! I’m Kim Byers of The Celebration Shoppe. Let’s get crafty and make a personalized teacher’s gift that is sure to win you brownie points!

To make this teacher gift, you’ll need a few things from Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores:
• Tote (in the t-shirt section of store)
Cricut Red Glitter Iron-On
Cricut White Iron-On
Cricut Design Space
Cricut Explore Air
Cricut Explore Standard Mat (12×12)
Cricut Weeding Tool
• Gift Box (available in-stores)
Ribbon

Easy How To Steps For Making A Personalized Teacher Gift:
1. Measure & Design – Measure your bag and then design your bag in Cricut Design Space. (TIP: Use shapes like this apple and then fill them with patterns to match your graphics. When you do this, you can flatten the art to make one graphic for print then cut. The options are truly endless! If you have questions, Cricut has a library of “how to” videos.)

2. Cut & Weed – Load Cricut Glitter Iron-On into your machine, cut and weed out excess design. (TIP: Make sure you mirror image your cut when using iron-on!)

3. Apply – measure again, center and iron. I suggest ironing slowly and for at least three or four minutes. Test and repeat if needed. The better you bond your design, the better it will hold up in the washer. You can also flip the bag over and iron from the back to further set the iron-on

4. Cut & Weed – repeat step two with the white iron-on, overlay it on the glitter iron-on.

5. Apply – repeat step three with the white iron-on.

Now that your bag is done, consider either packaging it in this darling gift box (found in the scrapbooking section) and tying with ribbon. Or, you could make a few more things to go with the bag. Probably depends on how many brownie points you think you’re going to need! {wink} I’ll share more about making the coffee mug and the treat bag (all with Jo-Ann supplies) over on the blog later in the week.

By the way, did you see how I created the perfect homework station and DIY chalkboard calendar in one of my latest posts? It’s super easy and functional. Make sure you also check out how to organize your kiddo’s closet for back to school including free printables, plus a fun free printable for gift cards that will also make the teacher smile.

And if you need a personalized backpack for your little one, I’ve got the perfect tutorial for that too. Make sure you have a look! Jo-Ann has all your Cricut supplies, backpacks, teacher gifts and homework station ideas!

As always, I hope you’re inspired to craft, bake, create and celebrate with Jo-Ann!
