Embellish with Corkboard
Some people love chalkboard crafts, some people love mason jars, and some people love marquee letters. Me, personally? I love corkboard. I use it everywhere in my house and I find it is the perfect accessory for any room. Whether it is allowing kids to display their artwork in fun places where I can easily swap out pictures, leaving daily reminder post-it notes for myself, helping me keep my monthly calendar, or even using one for my studio inspiration board. And when I love and use something this much, I like to share that love with friends and family. Why not use corkboard to make awesome handmade holiday presents and show a little thanks and love this holiday season?
How to embellish a frame and vase with corkboard.
For the perfect handmade holiday present.
Skill Level: Beginner
Time Needed: 30 minutes
● Hot glue gun / hot glue
● Box cutter
● Frame and/or vase
Picture frame DIY:
Step One. Place the picture frame face down on top of the corkboard and trace around.
Step Two. Lift the frame and using a ruler, draw the inside of your picture frame. (Keep in mind the photo size you would like to use in the frame when tracing.)
Step Three. Using a box cutter and ruler, very carefully cut out the frame from the corkboard. For an added touch, you can use a clear varnish or clear nail polish around the frame edges to finish.
Step Four. Apply a thin line of hot glue around the picture frame’s edge and firmly press the corkboard frame to the front. Allow to dry fully.
And you are finished with the base picture frame!
