St. Patrick’s Day Treats

Let me introduce you to the most addicting sweet treat ever – St. Patrick’s Day Candy Covered Pretzel and Popcorn Mix. Ya’ll this is seriously so good.  But let me warn you that you definitely want to make it the day off an event.  It doesn’t taste as good the second day.  The popcorn kinda gets mushy.  I am kind of grateful for this because i can’t keep this in my house.  I have no self control when it comes to these candy covered kernels.  While I made this batch up for St. Patty’s Day you can do different colors for game day, sports events, birthday parties, etc.  Since Wilton carries every color of the rainbow of candy melts you can make it for every event.

Supplies:

● Wilton Candy Melts – green and white
Popcorn Kernels (in Ohio we have MikeSells Puffcorn Delights brand and it is amazing)
● Gold Sixlets
● Wilton Candy Sprinkles (the green blend is available currently for St. Patty’s Day in stores)
● Microwaveable safe bowls
Pretzel twists
● Spatula
● Waxed paper

  1. Melt half of the bag of the first color of candy melts following the manufacturer’s instructions on the back of the package.St. Patrick's Day Treats
  2. Pour it over half of the popcorn.  You don’t need to measure – just wing it.  Use a spatula to mix it together, coating all the kernels.St. Patrick's Day Treats

  3. Melt the other color and repeat the process.  I used mostly white candy melts with a little green to get a lighter shade.

  4.  Spread it out on waxed paper letting the candy melts harden.

  8.  Add in some gold Sixlets for color and more yumminess.St. Patrick's Day Treats
  9.  Serve it for St. Patrick’s Day or put it in small baggies and pass it out at school to all the kids.  I bet their parents will take one taste and want it for themselves.
