Summer Hawaiian Themed Party
Summer is in full swing and it’s time to party! And you can’t have a party without an awesome photo booth. Hey everyone! It’s Kara from A Kailo Chic Life, and I can’t wait to share my ideas on how to throw the best Hawaiian summer party. Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores not only have all the essentials for creating your own Hawaiian party, but they also have a new line of photo booth props and frames (available in-stores) that make customizing your own party photo booth a breeze!
I was inspired to throw a sophisticated black, white, and pink Hawaiian themed party after seeing this amazing black and white Nate Berkus print at Jo-Ann Stores. I used 2 yards of the fabric as a backdrop for my photo booth and another yard for my table cloth (just hem all the sides for a quick table cloth).
For the table setting, I used a few pink plates I own and topped them with faux bird of paradise leaves and flowers from the Jo-Ann floral department. I also picked up two of the white flameless candle pineapple lanterns (available in-stores) to flank the table and bring in a little mood lighting. I completed the look with a few white tea light candles and vase filled with more faux flowers from The Bloom Room at Jo-Ann Stores and chalkboard sign from the new photo booth prop line available in stores.
Now on to the best part of any party, the photo booth! As I mentioned, for this photo booth I used the black and white Nate Berkus fabric for the backdrop, then topped the fabric with letters (I spelled ”SMILE”) from the photo prop line and a few faux flowers and tropical leaves.
But no photo booth is complete without the props. To keep with the Hawaiian theme, I used faux flowers to create a flower crown, used a chalkboard pen and one of the chalkboard photo props to create an Aloha sign, and hot glued more flowers and a palm leaf to one of the photo booth prop frames.
A few other accessories like a gold glitter heart and straw fedora were the perfect finishing touches. My kids sure enjoyed getting their photo taken in the photo booth with all the props!
And I may have even gotten in on the action!
Overall the party was a success and the ready to be customized photo props and fabric backdrop made the party simple and quick to set up.
I hope you enjoyed all the details on how to throw your own stylish Hawaiian summer party complete with a photo booth. For more summer party ideas, check out my geometric floral summer party.
