We have been working on setting up our porch for summer- I don’t want to admit how long our front porch has been a mis-matched, funky assortment of décor and storage for empty pots—and we wanted something warm, welcoming, and full of bright colors.
I headed to JOANN to grab some summer accents- and got instantly hooked! There were so many awesome ideas and décor options; I got a bit carried away. They have so many patio-ready ideas- and a few cute things I made into fun summer decorations that we will cherish long after the seasons change!
Basically the only thing we had on our front porch was a table and chairs set that I spray painted to match some vintage hanging planters I found at a flea market a few years ago. They are green – like aged copper- which is pretty, but blends into the house colors a bit. I needed some fun pops of bright color, so I headed in to the Seasonal section at JOANN to find some great goods to brighten up the space!
I actually hated some of the pots I put some new annuals in, and wanted to dress them up a bit. I absolutely love how these seagrass baskets look around a vase! Some adorable ceramic lanterns and a brightly colored mason jar are great pretty holders for citronella candles (which are a necessity where we live in Northern Colorado). They also make the table a little more fun, and inviting!
I love this lemon wreath I found, as well as this cute little pickup truck that I drilled some holes in to make it a vase. They help our front door stand out and cheer it up a bit!
I also found some adorable vintage-style letters and stapled them onto a pallet board to make a cute, stylish sign with our last name. They come in fun colors, are light enough to hang, and look great with just about any color scheme!
I also grabbed some bright blue outdoor pillows to make our chairs a little more interesting. JOANN Fabric and Craft Stores have THE best outdoor pillows!
One of the areas I can never figure out how to decorate is a hook off a porch pillar. I grabbed a grapevine wreath and this adorable rooster welcome sign—they help fill up the space and look great!
The last addition is this adorable plant stand that looks like a ladder. It makes easy, quick, and clean vertical garden in minutes! It comes with a cute chalkboard in the back that is perfect for fun sayings or designs.
I used a stencil that I made out of vinyl with my Cricut and some Martha Stewart chalk pen to trace over the design- the word “grow” in Country Chick font.
We have a few more planters filled with annuals to add, but I am loving the new, cheery space! What are your favorite summer additions?
