Thanksgiving Kids’ Table Activities and Turkey Treats

Hi there! Kim from The Celebration Shoppe here with fun Thanksgiving kids’ table ideas including activities and treats to keep the kids crafty… and busy… this Thanksgiving Day!

Thanksgiving Kids' Table Activities and Turkey Treats

First of all, you need to set an inviting Thanksgiving kid’s table. Draw the kids in with activities. They will have fun while you slave away over a hot oven… or if you’re like me, while you nibble all the sweets while your mom slaves over a hot oven. {wink}

For our Thanksgiving kids’ table I chose to dress it up this year in black and white with pops of orange, red and silver. It’s an extension of our adult table but with a bit more fun. For the cups, I made super easy Mayflower masts that double as Thanksgiving placecards. It’s as simple as cutting 3″ x 2.5″ rectangles, punching holes in each end and slipping a paper straw through!

I also designed “I’m Thankful For…” coloring sheets so the kids can write all the things that they want to remember and be thankful for.

And why stop there! I also designed cut and color turkey sheets to decorate crispy rice cereal treats! It’s as simple as downloading my free printable Thanksgiving activity sheets, coloring them, cutting them out, using glue dots to adhere the paper to toothpicks and inserting them into crispy rice cereal treats.

For the crispy rice cereal treats shape, I chose to use an Easter egg cookie cutter. In the food crafting section on Jo-Ann.com, look for the Wilton egg cutter with the purple comfort grip rim. It’s the perfect depth. Just make your crispy rice cereal treats like normal and while they’re still hot, mold them into the cutter. (Tip: Make sure you put lots of butter on the cutter so the treats don’t stick. I also recommend wax paper to keep your work surface from getting sticky.)

See how fun the kid’s Thanksgiving table placesetting looks when they’ve crafted their dessert! Okay… who’s kidding who?! This treat isn’t going to make it to dessert, but the kids will have fun crafting him and eating him!
