  • Lion BrandĀ®:
    Bonbons Celebrate 1 pack or color of choice
    Knitting needles size 4 (3.5 mm)
    Large-eyed blunt needle

DIRECTIONS:

SIZE
About 2' wide x 19' circumference. Headwrap will stretch to fit a range of sizes.

GAUGE
24 stitches = 4' in Garter stitch (knit every row).
Be sure to check your gauge.
When matching the gauge in a pattern, the project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes fewer stitches and rows to match the gauge, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STRIPE SEQUENCE
Work *(8 rows with purple, 6 rows with emerald) twice, (8 rows with purple, 6 rows with pea green) twice, (8 rows with purple, 6 rows with light blue) twice,
(8 rows with dark blue, 6 rows with hot pink) twice, (8 rows with dark blue, 6 rows with sparkling peach) twice, (8 rows with dark blue, 6 rows with red) twice; repeat from * for Stripe Sequence.

HEADWRAP
Note:
Making the Headwrap requires changing yarn colors. The color sections consist of stripes that alternate 2 colors. When working each of these sections, the yarn need not be cut between stripes. Just carry the color not being used along the side edge of the Headwrap.

With purple, cast on 12 stitches.
Work in Garter stitch (knit every row), changing color following the Stripe Sequence until piece measures about 19 in. (48.5 cm), or desired length from beginning.
Bind off, leaving a long yarn tail.

BOW
With dark blue, cast on 12 stitches.
Knit 16 rows. Change to hot pink.
With hot pink, knit 20 rows. Change to dark blue.
With dark blue, knit 32 rows. Change to hot pink.
With hot pink, knit 20 rows. Change to dark blue.
With dark blue, knit 16 rows.
Bind off, leaving a long yarn tail.

BOW TIE
With light blue, cast on 12 stitches.
Knit 5 rows.
Bind off, leaving a long yarn tail.

FINISHING
With yarn tail, sew ends of Headwrap together to make a loop.
With yarn tail, sew ends of Bow together to make a loop.
Wrap Bow Tie around center of Bow, then sew sides of Tie together with yarn tail. With same yarn tail, sew Bow to Headwrap.
Weave in ends.
