Great beginner (and beyond) machine!
Purchased this because I'm trying to get back into sewing after a 20+ year hiatus. I learned a bit from my mom as a kid and made a few basic pieces (some clothing!) and I had a handmedown machine that was giving me a headache. I love this machine for the 37 stitch options, not that I know what to do with many of them, but it runs well and is so much smoother and easier to use than my previous one. I was torn between this one and the Brother quilting one, but I'm not that good yet. I highly recommend this one!

Arrived broken. Could not return. Do not rely on Brother's warranty.
Here are the three main points:
1. The sewing machine came broken. I opened the box, plugged it in, it did not work.
2. Joann (or at least the Joann near me) refused to take a return. They state that they cannot accept a sewing machine back if the box has been opened. Even if it was only opened to determine that it was broken.
I didn't see this warning before purchasing, but I probably stupidly overlooked something and clicked off an agreement without reading. Please, if you're reading this review, don't follow me into the stupidity 😥
3. The repair cost $100, and Brother will not cover it. Brother kept telling me to return it even though I said Joann will not accept it and even though I said it came broken.

❗CONCLUSION❗ Please don't buy this sewing machine from Joann.
Brother's warranty isn't reliable and there's a chance you will have to cough up another $100 in order to have a usable sewing machine because it came broken.
If you have to buy a Brother machine, buy it from somewhere else that has a return policy that isn't "if you opened the box, we won't take it back".

Great value, versatile and user friendly!
I purchased this sewing machine to make quilts and cushions for my toddler triplets’ room.
I loved how easy it was to set it up and to operate. I was able to begin working on my projects right away.
It has all the features other more expensive machines have at a fraction of the price.
Im happy with my purchase and definitely recommend.

Machine worked great for a couple hours, now the stitches are all messed up. I tried every adjustment and the seams are all falling apart. Super crappy.
