Been making costumes with it for 10 years!
I've been making costumes with this machine for ten years now and I love it. I've sewn everything with it from cotton, satin, pleather, vinyl, PVC, spandex, zippers, trims, even foam! The stretch stitch is invaluable for stretch materials and there's even straight and zigzag stretch stitches. I've never had problems with it other than the normal occasional issues you'd have with any sewing machine (bobbin thread bunching up). That can happen with any machine now and then. The needle threader is so wonderful and easy to use, and the drop-in bobbin is super convenient and easy. You can use any brand of plastic bobbin just make sure it's the same size as the ones that come with it. Love it!
a mess
This machine will work good for a while and then mess up with the stitches. I do not like it and am sorry I got it.
terrrible machine
never buy this macine it ruined my blanket i was making and the thread got all bunched up now i have to rip out all the thread and im returning this machine asap.

I haven't touched a machine since home ec (like 10 years ago) and wanted a decent machine for a good price. I bought this one on sale and it is perfect for me. I sat down with the book and was sewing that first day!
Love my Little Brother!
I bought my XL2610 a few years ago, and love it. It is light weight, and works great for going to quilting meets. Has never given me any problems and still works like a charm.
Worthless piece of junk!
Ordered this through Joanns online. Used the sewing machine twice before it stopped engaging the bobbin. I called Brother's customer service and they told me to change the needle and when that of course didn't do anything they said sorry, nothing we can do. I called a local sewing machine repair shop and they said they see this problem all the time with Brother sewing machines. Finally I gave up and returned the machine. I was given a return shipping label by Joanns. I also shipped back some bobbins in the same box. As of right now I've received a credit back for the bobbins but they claim they never received the sewing machine which was in the same box. Don't order this machine and don't order anything from Joanns online!
price perfect
I did not buy this machine for the color pink. My purchase was on the price. I can hardly have an machine serviced hardly for the price of this mechanical machine. It is perfect to carry to quilting classes. It is light and easy to use, but best of all I called the 800 telephone number to talk to a real live repair man about why the needle seemed to be off center. I couldn't believe it! a real person told me that I did not have the needle centered because I had the dial turned to the wrong setting. My fault and so simple.
Great for all your basic sewing!
I bought this machine four years ago, while I was teaching myself how to sew. I sew several quilts/other projects per year, and have had no mechanical problems with the machine. The instruction book is easy to follow. I highly recommend this machine!
