Sew Good

Reviewer: Rebekah, 12/27/2012

My husband purchased this machine for me for Christmas 2010. I have used it many many times since then to sew daisy patches, fix stuffed teddy bears, fix blankets, make doll clothing, and have sewn several ice skating dresses for my daughter. I should say that before I got this machine, I did not sew at all, just thought about how nice it would be to do so. Many people, who sew, can not get over that I can make ice skating costumes with this machine. It works fine, I hear that a serger would be better - but for now this machine is perfect for me. I plan to give it to my daughter if/when I do upgrade to a fancier machine.

Not Worth it.

Reviewer: Jarrod, 02/12/2012

Decided to buy a new machine since repairing mine would cost about the same price. I bought it because of the reviews and fact that it had a one step buttonhole maker (something that would have really come in handy). It shredded a basic cotton when I tried it, bent the needle and I now cant get it out. Really a hassle and not worth the money. Going to get another machine from another brand.

A Great Starter Machine

Reviewer: Angela, 08/27/2011

I bought this machine in March to teach myself how to quilt. Before that, it had been about 20 years since I've touched a machine. It seemed I had made the perfect choice: a simple machine with lots of features. Unfortunately, trying to free motion quilt has been a nightmare. You cannot lower the feed dogs, only cover them. There's hardly room for the fabric and batting to move, and it's a frustrating and tiring process. Overall, general sewing and the walking foot have been great. But if you want to do anything more advanced, get another machine.

Nothing complicated

Reviewer: Alice, 02/23/2011

What sold me to this machine is that it has one step buttonhole, tons of stitches, all the added extras and the twin needle. It's an upgrade from my previous machine and it's amazing. I absolutely love this machine and would recommend it to anyone.

SEW EASY TO USE

Reviewer: Priscilla, 01/02/2011

This machine is the easiest machine I have ever used. The instructions are straight forward and EASY to understand. I have my tention on 2 and that works well for most things I sew. THANK YOU ( BROTHER ) FOR MAKING SEWING SEW ENJOYABLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

great machine!

Reviewer: Crystal, 12/06/2010

I got this sewing machine as a Christmas gift last year and it's been fantastic. I was a total beginner when I got this machine and now sewing has become my main hobby. I've made quilts, handbags, and clothes with this machine with great success and minimal frustration.

Had to return :(

Reviewer: JW, 05/18/2010

I was so excited for this machine but my first sewing project the machine was crap. Made a knocking sound if I sewed more than one layer of fabric and yes, I used a correct size brand new needle and it still sounded terrible while sewing. Not smooth. I'm not going to mess around with trying to fix a BRAND new machine so I had to send it back. Totally bummed.

OMG this is the best machine i've had. My grandmother bought it for me to replace the last one she bought me about 7 years ago. I am so in love with this machine i stayed up til 2AM sewing everything in sight! It is so easy to use you don't even need to know how to sew to use it. I Love it!
