Burlap Fabric is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 70.
Rated 0 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed I have been purchasing this burlap for over a year for my home decor business and up until now have been very happy with the quality. The last time I ordered online I was sent a loosely woven (with holes in it) strong smelling natural colored burlap. It was no better than garden grade burlap. I sent it back and went to my closest Joann's store (an hour away) and that was what they carried also. It was all sold under the James Thopson brand name but this is not the same grade as what has been previously offered. I am very upset that the quality has changed so much without any warning.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Burlap Reading over the other reviews I took a chance on ordering this product from Joann's. I searched the internet to try and find other merchants who sold burlap but discovered the prices where much higher than that of Joann's and therefore outside my budget. When my purchased arrived I was so grateful that there was little to know order and that the fabric was clean as others made mention of being disappointed about! Moreover, I was blessed that my piece was at the end of - what they called the "bolt" - so I got a few inches extra at no extra cost. My only complaint however, is the way in which the fabric was cut. The individual obviously did not care how they cut the fabric because it was hacked into an uneven edge. This has caused me to have to attache another piece to the burlap in order to complete the project that I had in mind for the fabric.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A few tips! I just completed several burlap table runners , and they turned out great. Burlap can be very tricky to work with, so here's what I did: After deciding on the length and width I wanted, I made a small cut, grabbed one thread and pulled it all the way out. This makes an obvious "track", and without it, it is almost impossible to cut straight. Then I used my iron and hem tape. Pretty easy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GreaAT TO WORK WITH This burlap is stiff but easy to work with. The stiffness adds body while measuring and folding into the project you are working on. It is not flimsy at all. The smell may not be to your liking but you get over that right away. Great product and cheap for that rustic décor you are looking for. I purchased burlap from another store ONLY once. JoAnn's was a better quality and it is usually on sale. You get your moneys worthy. I highly recommend this burlap.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality not for crafts Very disappointed in the quality of this burlap compared to the previous stock that Joann's stores carried. Needed this for a scout rug hooking project, and I figured it would be an inexpensive alternative to linen burlap. I had purchased some a few years ago for another project from Joann's and it had been acceptable. Sadly, this fabric is too coarse, has too many slubs and defects and smells horrible! It would be useful for gardening, but not for crafts, cards or home decor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from better than I expected! I purchased 3 yards each of burlap in the natural and Idaho potato colors. Surprisingly, there was no strong smell to the fabric. I did find that the Natural fabric is a lot more stiff than the Idaho potato. The Idaho is more flexible and seems to be a little thicker. I still love both and can't wait to get my projects started! :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Idaho potato burlap Love this burlap, looks great easy to use..The only Think i did not like was that i ordered this online, Not only did they do a horrific cutting job, i did not get a true 2 yards. I will not ordered fabric online again, i will get it in store!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love sewing with this! I made six table runners for my daughter's upcoming graduation party. I was reluctant to use burlap assuming it would be hard to work with and hard on the needles on my machine. However, I found it exactly the opposite. It is very easy to iron and sewing is even easier than cotton (2nd favorite material I like to use). I purchased this through our local retail store not online.
