Description

Gold Distressed Candlestick

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Medium sized wooden candlestick
  • Eye pins (3)
  • Very small eye screws- Tim Holtz® idea-ology (3)
  • Assorted glass beads: preciosa crystal honey beads, strung glass bronze pearl beads, silver plated rhinestone spacers
  • 72" gold chain
  • 1: head pins
  • 1-1/4" eye pins
  • Jump rings
  • Bottle of wax from Home Décor® chalk paint
  • Medium weight sandpaper
  • Flat brush

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Paint the entire candlestick white and allow to dry.
  2. Distress the edges with sand paper to the desired amount.
  3. Paint lightly in certain areas (not all over) with gold paint and allow to dry.
  4. Distress the edges with sand paper to the desired amount.
  5. Seal the candlestick with Home Décor wax using a soft cloth or paper towel.
  6. Evenly space and mount three small eye screws at top of stem on the base.
  7. Evenly space and mount 3 eye pins on underside of second lip of the candlestick down from the top.
  8. Make 3 hoops with beads, making a dangler bead hanging down in the middle.
  9. These will attach to the top eye screws
  10. Using the gold chain, attach longer loops behind the hoop danglers, breaking the chain with a set of bead attached on eye pins on each chain in the middle.
  11. Pull the long loops together and make a short dangler using 3 beads, biggest one on bottom of dangler.
  12. Place 6 straight sets of beads in the breaks on the gold chain.
  13. On the lower set of eye screws toward the back against the stem, drape the gold chain again, only this time make straight danglers with a ball bead on the end of each dangler to hang in front from the eye screws. The chain will drape behind the long danglers.

Black Distressed Candlesticks

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1- Short wooden candlestick
  • 1- bottle of black paint
  • 1- bottle of wax from Home Décor chalk paint
  • Medium weight sandpaper
  • 1- Flat brush

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Paint the entire candlestick black and allow to dry.
  2. Distress the edges with sand paper to the desired amount.
  3. Seal the candlestick with Home Décor wax using a soft cloth or paper towel.
