SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Advantus/Sulyn Extra Fine Glitter - Cherry Blossom
  • Advantus/Sulyn Extra Fine Glitter - Caribbean
  • Jewelry Fundamentals Metallic Silver Acrylic Beads
  • Tim Holtz glass vials
  • Butterfly paper punch
  • Card stock – light pink, dark pink, green, blue, yellow
  • Burlap
  • Unfinished wood craft frame, 18"x6"
  • Craft glue
  • Craft paintbrush
  • Craft paint: pink, brown
  • Silver craft wire
  • Round-nosed pliers

DIRECTIONS:

1. Refer to project photo for instruction reference.
2. Cut out five butterflies from card stock, one of each color: light pink, dark pink, green, blue, yellow.
3. Cover dark pink butterfly with glue and dark pink glitter from Variety Pack, let dry.
4. Cover light pink butterfly with glue and light pink glitter from Variety Pack, let dry.
5. Cover green butterfly with glue and green glitter from Variety Pack, let dry.
6. Cover blue butterfly with glue and light blue glitter from Variety Pack, let dry.
7. Cover yellow butterfly with glue and yellow glitter from Variety Pack, let dry.
8. Paint frame with pink craft paint. Distress with a wash of brown paint if desired.
9. Fill one short glass vial with light pink glitter from Variety Pack; secure cork with glue.
10. Fill one short glass vial with a mixture of crystal and yellow glitter from Variety Pack; secure cork with glue.
11. Fill one tall glass vial with gold glitter from Variety Pack; secure cork with glue.
12. Fill one tall glass vial with Cherry Blossom glitter; secure cork with glue.
13. Fill one tall glass vial with Caribbean glitter; secure cork with glue.
14. Cut ten pieces of wire, 1-1/2" inches each.
15. Using pliers, place bead on one end of each wire, bending to secure,
16. Curl bead-end of each wire to form antenna.
17. Insert two antennas into each bottle cork, secure with a drop of glue.
18. Cut a piece of burlap to fit frame, insert in frame.
19. Glue butterflies to burlap, evenly spaced.
