SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1 skein Red Heart® Super Saver® Yarn: Chili
- Knitting needles size F-10 (6mm) or size for gauge
- 16" [40.5cm] pillow form
- Five 7/8" [28 mm] dia buttons
- Yarn needle
- Tape measure
13 sts = 4" [10 cm]; 21 rows = 4" [10 cm] in Pattern st.
Cast on 52 sts.
Knit 8 rows.
Row 1 (RS): K2, *yo, k2tog; repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: K2, *k2tog, yo; repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.
Row 4: Purl.
Row 5: K2, *yo, k2tog; repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.
Rows 6-8: Knit.
Repeat Rows 1-8 for Pattern st until piece measures 32" [81cm] from beginning, end with Row 6.
Buttonhole Row: K7, bind off 2 sts, *knit until 7 sts have been worked, bind off 2 sts; repeat from * 3 more times, knit to end – 5 buttonholes.
Next Row: Knit across, casting on 2 sts above bind-off sts of previous row. Knit 3 rows. Bind off.
Overlap buttonhole edge over cast-on edge so piece measures 16" [40.5 cm] square. Sew side edges. Sew buttons opposite buttonholes. Weave in ends. Insert pillow form.
