SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Jolee's Jewels:
    • 5 Candide chandeliers, violet
    • 6mm Bicone beads, Purple Mix: 11 tanzanite, 16 violet opal, 6 violet, 4 crystal
    • 4mm Bicone beads, Purple Mix: 24 tanzanite, 14 violet opal, 18 violet, 31 amethyst, 14 crystal
  • 19" flexible stringing wire
  • 31 silver headpins
  • 9 silver jump rings
  • 2 silver crimp beads
  • 1 set silver lobster claw & split ring closure
  • Pliers: chain-nose, round-nose
  • Wire cutters

DIRECTIONS:

EARRINGS:

  1. Eyepin loops: thread crystal bead on headpin. Use chain-nose pliers to bend wire to 90° angle. Use wire cutter to trim headpin wire. Use round-nose pliers to grip end of the wire and bend to form a loop. If making a connector, start with an eyepin and finish with an eyepin loop.
  2. Thread 6mm tanzanite and 4mm amethyst beads onto a headpin, close with eyepin loop (make 2); 6mm violet opal bead (make 4); 4mm tanzanite bead (make 4).
  3. Attach 6mm tanzanite and 4mm amethyst dangle to bottom center loop of chandelier.
  4. Attach 6mm violet opal dangle to the loops on both sides of center bottom dangle.
  5. Attach 4mm tanzanite dangle to the two remaining loops of chandelier.
  6. Connect chandelier and ear wire. Repeat to create other earring.

NECKLACE:

  1. Make dangles for the center pendant: thread 4mm violet, 6mm tanzanite and 4mm amethyst beads on a headpin, close with an eyepin loop; (4mm violet and 6mm violet opal beads) x 2; (4mm amethyst and tanzanite beads) x 2.
  2. Make dangles for the side pendants: thread (6mm tanzanite and 4mm amethyst bead on headpin, close with eyepin loop) x 2; 6mm violet opal bead x 4; 4mm tanzanite bead x4.
  3. Make dangles for the necklace: thread (4mm amethyst and a 6mm violet opal beads on headpin, close with eyepin loop) x 2; 6mm violet bead x 2; 6mm tanzanite bead x 2.
  4. Assemble center pendant: attach the 4mm violet, 6mm tanzanite and 4mm amethyst dangle to bottom center loop of chandelier pendant. Attach the 4mm violet and 6mm violet opal dangles to sides of the center dangle. Attach the 4mm amethyst and tanzanite dangles to the 2 remaining loops of the chandelier pendant.
  5. Assemble side pendants: attach a 6mm tanzanite and 4mm amethyst dangle to the bottom center loop of chandelier pendant. Attach a 6mm violet opal dangle to loops on sides of center bottom dangle. Attach a 4mm tanzanite dangle to remaining loops of chandelier pendant. Repeat for remaining chandelier pendant.
  6. Attach a jump ring to all chandelier pendants and dangles.
  7. Crimp the stringing wire to the loop of the lobster claw closure.
  8. Thread beading pattern: 4mm violet, amethyst, crystal, violet opal and tanzanite bead. Repeat 4mm pattern x 7. Thread additional 4mm violet and amethyst bead on the stringing wire.
  9. Thread 6mm crystal, violet opal, tanzanite and violet bead on the stringing wire.
  10. Thread 4mm amethyst bead, side chandelier pendant and 4mm amethyst bead on stringing wire.
  11. Thread 6mm violet opal bead, 6mm violet dangle, 6mm crystal bead, 4mm amethyst and 6mm violet opal dangle, 6mm tanzanite bead, 6mm tanzanite dangle and 6mm violet bead on the stringing wire.
  12. Thread 4mm amethyst bead, center chandelier pendant and 4mm amethyst bead on stringing wire.
  13. Repeat in reverse from the center up the sides of the necklace.
  14. Crimp the strung wire to the split ring.
  15. To finish, test crimps for security; trim free wire ends with cutters.
