HOODED CAPE
SuPPliES & TOOlS:
2 yds fabric of choice, 54"-60" wide
Matching thread
Basic sewing supplies
Iron & ironing surface
DirECTiOnS:
All seams are 5/8" unless stated otherwise.
1. Cut out: 2 pieces of pattern A (front), 2 pieces of pattern B (back), 4 pieces of pattern C (hood), 2 ties 2"x18".
2. Sew back pieces together at center back seam with right sides together.
3. Sew front pieces at side seams to back cape with right sides together.
4. Press open seams.
5. On center front of both front pieces, fold in 1/2", press, then fold in another 1/2" and stitch down close to edge.
6. For hem, fold up 1", press, then fold another 1" and stitch along edge.
7. Fold tie pieces in half lengthwise with right sides together. Stitch widthwise on one end of tie and along the length
of the tie. Keep one end open for each.
8. Turn the ties inside out and press. Set aside.
9. With right sides together, stitch two hood pieces together at center back seams. Repeat for remaining 2 hood
pieces.

10. Place ties 1" from ends of hood on both sides, baste in place.

11. With right sides together, stitch hood & hood lining together along outer edge of hood with ties attached.

12. Turn right side out, with lining in hood, baste along bottom edge of hood.

13. Sew hood to cape and press.
CAPE WiTHOuT HOOD
SuPPliES & TOOlS:
2 yds fabric of choice, 54"-60" wide

Matching ribbon
Basic sewing supplies
Iron & ironing surface

DirECTiOnS:
All seams are 5/8" unless stated otherwise. Enlarge pattern pieces.
1. Cut out: 2 pieces of pattern A (front), 2 pieces of pattern B (back) and 1 piece for neckline 24"x3".
2. Sew back pieces together at center back seam with right sides together.
3. Sew front pieces at side seams to back cape with right sides together.
4. Press seams open.
5. On center front of both front pieces, fold in 1/2", press, then fold in another 1/2" and stitch down close to edge.
6. For hem, fold up 1", press, then fold another 1" and stitch along edge.
7. With the neckline piece, fold over ends 1/2" widthwise and stitch close to edge.
8. Fold neckline piece in half with wrong sides together.
9. Stitch neckline piece to cape at the cape neckline, with right sides together, and press.

10. Feed ribbon through neckline gap for tie.
