I make lots of baby blankets and prayer shawls/throws for charity so I need lots of yarn! This yarn is a great value and I don't have to sacrifice quality or comfort as the finished product always washes well/ no blocking just gently wash and dry in the machine. No problems with pulling from the skein - I pull from the center and keep the skein in a vertical position in a small cylinderal container.
I have used this yarn to make several afghans. The dye lot has been perfect. I love the texture as it does not pill up or fray. I pull the yarn from the center. If you take caution to secure the other end under the wrapper you will not have problems with the tangling. Also I usually lay the skein down on the ottoman to work with it as I pull through the yarn. Usually don't have any tangle problems. A great value! The yarn makes a great afghan and I would highly recommend the Caron One Pound Yarn! Judy
Had way to many frays and knots in the yarn, made a baby blanket and used two of these and had to cut in the middle of a row quiet a few times, kind of aggravated.
I have bought a few pounds of this yarn in deep purple for a bedspread. It pulls wonderfully from the center and the color is wonderfully vibrant and the finished cloth is soft and beautiful. I had to buy yarn from multiple stores at different times and I can not see any difference in the colors. My only critique is that the yarn is slightly rough being pulled through my hand after a while but for the price it is much better than anything else I have tried.
Love this yarn it's one of my favorite yarns. Please, please, please make one pound ombres. That would be great!
I HAVE BEEN USING THIS YARN FOR YEARS AND THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS THE DYE LOT WAS NOT TRUE I GOT MY BLANKET HALF DONE ONLY TO FIND THERE WAS A DIFFERENT SHADE AS THIS WAS A GIFT I WASNT TO HAPPY OTHERWISE NO PROBLEM BUT DO WISH THE STORES CARRIED MORE SHADES

DO NOT PULL YARN FROM CENTER. Eventually, it gets all tangled up. Instead find a box, 1-lb coffee can, the best is a small round waste basket, have the yarn sit up and pull form outside. Have the yarn on vertical position. No problem.
