Description

SHOWER CURTAIN
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 3 1/2 yd 45" or 54" Fabric A: plus one repeat of pattern if using a print
  • 1 1/2 yd 45" or 54" Fabric B: plus one repeat of pattern if using a print
  • Grommets, grommet setter: optional
  • Shower curtain liner
  • Sewing machine
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Iron, ironing surface
  • Rotary cutter, ruler & mat
DIRECTIONS: Use 1/2" seam allowances.

1. Cut two 56" pieces of Fabric A .

2. Cut two 25" pieces of Fabric B. If using a print fabric, cut lengths so repeats match on both panels.

3. With right sides together, sew one piece of Fabric B to the bottom of one piece of Fabric A. Repeat.
Press seam open.

4. With right sides of the two sewn panels together, sew one long edge. Press seam open.

5. Cut the width of the sewn panel to 74", with the seam positioned in the middle or toward one side.

6. Turn the side edges under 1 1/2" and press. Turn under 1 1/2" again; press and stitch.

7. For the top hem, turn the top edge under 1" and press. Turn under 1" again; press and stitch.

8. Turn bottom edge under 3", press. Turn under 3" again. Press and stitch. Press the shower curtain.

9. Button holes or grommets can be placed along the top for hanging. Lay the purchased shower curtain liner on the new shower curtain and line up the edges. Mark the spot where the holes in the shower curtain will need to be to match the holes on the purchased liner.

10. Sew button holes vertically or follow package directions to set grommets.

BANDED TOWEL & RUG
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1/4 yd fabric per band
  • Rug
  • Towels
  • Sewing machine
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Iron, ironing surface
  • Rotary cutter, ruler & mat
DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut a strip of fabric 9"x width of towel or rug, plus 3".

2. Right sides together, seam strip lengthwise to form a tube. Turn and press.

3. Stitch to rug or towel, tucking ends under the bottom.

PEDESTAL SINK SKIRT

SUPPLIES & TOOLS

  • 2 yds home decor fabric
  • 2 yds of 2" ribbon
  • Double-stick tape or Velcro® brand hook and loop fastener
  • Sewing machine
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Iron, ironing surface
DIRECTIONS:

1. Measure length for skirt and add 3" for top and bottom hem.

2. Measure perimeter of sink.

3. Piece 2 fabric lengths to allow 1 1/2 times volume for gathering.

4. Hem a 1" hem at top.

5. Hem a 2" hem at bottom.

6. Finish sides by edge stitching.

7. Gather top edge to fit ribbon and stitch.

8. Attach to sink with Double-stick tape or Velcro® brand hook and loop fastener

WICKER HAMPER LINER
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1 1/2 yds 54" home decor fabric
  • 2 1/2 yds of 1/4" ribbon
  • Sewing machine
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Iron, ironing surface
  • Rotary cutter, ruler and mat
DIRECTIONS: Use 1/2" seam allowances. Our measurements are in ().

1. Measure height of hamper and add 6". (24"+6"=30")

2. Measure circumference of top and add 1". (53"+1" = 54")

3. Cut fabric 30"x54".

4. Fold in half and seam 24" of the 30" side.

5. Finish remaining 6" on each side.

6. Fold top over 1/4" and then 1" again to form a casing for ribbon at top. Stitch.

7. Cut a circle the measurement of the bottom of hamper.

8. Stitch circle to bottom of liner, pleating to fit.

9. Thread ribbon through casing. Insert liner and tie top.
