Description

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 5 (5, 6, 7) skeins Caron Wintuk yarn, Fisherman
  • Size I/9 crochet hook

SIZES: 6 (8, 10, 12)

GAUGE: 12 sts & 8 pattern rows = 4"

DIRECTIONS:

To work Post dc, take yarn over hook, inset hook front to back between next 2 sts; bring forward
between st being worked & one after it; hook positioned horizontally in back of st. Complete double crochet (dc).

BACK RIBBING:
Ch 8. Row 1: Sc in ea st across. Ch 1, turn at end of each ribbing row.
Row 2: Sc in the back of each st. Repeat Row 2 until ribbing is 10" (11", 12", 13") long.

BODY:
Row 1: Turn piece and work 38 (42, 46, 50) sc across long edge. Ch 3, turn (counts as first dc in next row).
Row 2: Dc in first 3 sc, *post dc around the back of the next sc, dc in next 3 sc, repeat from * to end of row. Ch 1, turn.
Row 3: Sc in ea st, ch 3, turn.
Row 4: Dc in first 3 sc, *post dc around the back of post dc, in previous dc row (2 rows below), dc in next 3 sc, repeat from * to end of row, ch 1, turn. Repeat Rows 3 and 4 for pattern. Work even until back measures 10-1/2" (11-1/2", 12-1/2", 13") ending with Row 4.

ARMHOLE SHAPING:
Next row sc to last 4 sts and stop, ch 2, turn. Work row 4 and stop 4 sts from end, ch 1,
turn. Work even in pattern on 30 (34, 38, 42) sts until armhole measures 51/2" (6", 61/2", 7"). Fasten off.

FRONT:
Work same as for back until armhole measures 31/2" (4", 4", 41/2"), end by working Row 4.
Next row sc in 8 (10, 12, 14) sts, ch 2, turn. Work 3 rows in pattern, decreasing 1 st at neck edge 2 times.
Fasten off. Join yarn 8 (10, 12, 14) sts from left shoulder edge and work reverse to right shoulder. Fasten off.

SLEEVES:
Work ribbing same as for back until 6" (6", 61/2", 7"). Work 22 (22, 26, 26) sc along long edge. Work
row 2 same as for back, then work rows 3 & 4 for pattern, increasing 1 st each edge every 4 rows 5 (7, 7, 8)
times. Work even until sleeve measures 121/2" (141/2", 161/2", 171/2"). Fasten off.
NECKBAND: Sew shoulder seams. With right side facing you, start at right shoulder and work 1 row sc around
neck. Work 1 row reverse sc around. Fasten off.
Sew in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams. Weave in yarn ends.
