Supplies & Tools:
  • Sculpey III® clay: 1 pkg each: White, Emerald, Red
    Hot Red, Yellow, Beige
  • Studio by Sculpey®: acrylic roller, clay knife
  • 1 spool holiday ribbon
  • 1 pkg rickrack
  • Red eyelet
  • Small star cookie cutter
  • Thick white craft glue
  • Canning jar
  • Toothpicks
  • Super Glue gel
  • 10 oz jar candle, optional
  • Fine line permanent marker
  • Wax paper or aluminum foil
  • 10 oz jar candle, optional
  • Fine line permanent marker, optional

Directions: Condition 1 color of clay at a time. Refer to photo.
Christmas Tree

1. Use acrylic roller to roll Red Hot Red clay 1/8" thick. Place jar lid on clay. Cut around it 1/8" from edge of circle. Roll long, thin Emerald rope. Press around edge of circle to finish base.

2. Shape 3 Emerald pieces for tree: 1 flattened dome; 1 smaller pointed dome; 1 small candy kiss shape.

3. A dd detail lines around outside of Emerald pieces. Press largest piece to clay base; press remaining pieces to top to create tree. Insert toothpick into top of tree with tip visible.

4. Roll White, Red Hot Red & Yellow ornaments. Press onto tree. Shape small Yellow star. Push onto toothpick.

5. For tag, roll Yellow clay 1/8" thick; cut star shape. Roll thin Red Hot Red rope & press around edges of star.

6. Glue lid topper to jar lid with Super Glue Gel. Glue ribbon & rickrack around lid with white craft glue. Allow to dry. Insert eyelet in top of tag. Write message with marker; tie to lid with ribbon.

7. Preheat oven to 275 degrees F. Test temperature with oven thermometer. Bake on an oven-proof glass or metal surface for 30 minutes per 1/4" thickness. Do not microwave. Do not overbake. Allow to cool.
