BUMBLEBEE:

  • Clay pots: 1-1/2", 2-1/2"
  • Pink, yellow craft foam shapes
  • 1 black chenille stems
  • 2 yellow chenille stems
  • Patio paint: sunshine yellow, wrought-iron black
  • Fine point black marker
  • Paintbrushes
  • Pencil
  • Glue

LADYBUG:

  • Clay pots: 1-1/2", 3"
  • 1 sheet red craft foam
  • 3-1/2" red pompoms
  • 4 black chenille stems
  • Tacky glue
  • 1 bag 1/4" black pompoms
  • Patio paint: geranium red, wrought-iron black
  • Fine point black marker
  • Pinking shears
  • Pencil
  • Paintbrush

BUTTERFLY:

  • Clay pots: Two 1-1/2", one 2"
  • Craft foam sheets: red, orange, yellow, green, white
  • 1/8" pompoms: 6 white, 2 yellow
  • Tacky glue
  • 1/4" pompoms: 2 black, red, yellow
  • Patio paints: sunshine yellow, wrought iron black,
  • sprout green
  • Fine point black marker
  • Pinking shears
  • Chenille stems: black, blue, green stem
  • Paintbrush

SPIDER:

  • Clay pots: 1-1/2", 3"
  • 8 black chenille stems
  • Tacky Glue
  • Patio paint, wrought iron black
  • Two 25mm wiggle eyes
  • Paintbrush

CATERPILLAR:

  • Four 1-1/2" clay pots
  • Two 1/8" pink pompoms
  • 6 black chenille stems
  • Tacky glue
  • Two 1/4" black pompoms
  • Two 1/2" green pompoms
  • Patio paint: green, cloud white
  • Fine point black marker
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors

DIRECTIONS:

BUMBLEBEE:

  1. Paint 1-1/2" pot black.
  2. Paint 2-1/2" pot yellow. Stripe with black.
  3. Bend black chenille stem in half and curl around pencil to form antenna.
  4. Bend yellow stems to form wings, twist ends. Glue craft foam shapes on top of stems.
  5. Slide wing ends under small pot and glue.
  6. Glue craft foam shape for nose and cheeks.
  7. Draw eyes with marker

LADYBUG:

  1. Paint the 1-1/2" pot red.
  2. Paint the 3" pot black.
  3. Cut black chenille stem in half and curl around pencil to form antenna.
  4. Glue in top of small red pot and glue 1/2" red pompoms in place.
  5. Cut two heart-shaped wings with pinking shears from red craft foam sheet.
  6. Make 12 chenille stem coils, each 3/4" in diameter. Glue to wings. Glue black pompoms on top of coils.
  7. Slide wings up under small pot. Adhere wings and pot to larger black pot.
  8. Glue pompom nose and cheeks in place.
  9. Draw eyes and mouth with marker.

BUTTERFLY:

  1. Paint one 1-1/2" pot black.
  2. Paint top part of other 1-1/2" pot yellow, bottom part black.
  3. Paint the 2" pot green.
  4. Cut black chenille stem in half and curl to form antenna.
  5. Glue in top of small yellow top pot and glue 1/4" black pompom in place.
  6. Cut two sets of wings -- yellow and green. Make yellow wings 1/2" smaller than green and glue together.
  7. Cut shapes from craft foam to form spots on butterfly. Add small pompoms.
  8. Glue pots together and attach wings
  9. Cut 3" piece of green chenille stem and form leaves. Bend around long piece. Make a flower shape from blue stem. Add yellow pompom to center.
  10. Glue pompom nose and cheeks in place.
  11. Draw eyes with marker.

SPIDER:

  1. Paint the pots black.
  2. Bend chenille stem in half. At one end form a foot. Repeat for 8 legs.
  3. Glue legs under 2" black pot.
  4. Glue 1-1/2" pot to bottom front of larger pot.
  5. Glue eyes.

CATERPILLAR:

  1. Paint 1-1/2" pots green.
  2. Mix some white paint into green. Paint two 1/2" pots with a lighter green.
  3. Cut black chenille stems in 4-1/2" pieces.
  4. Form legs by bending stem 3" and then again 1" so that a 1/2" length remains to attach under pot.
  5. Using handle end of paintbrush to dot pots with lighter shades of green paint.
  6. Cut 2" piece of chenille stem. Bend in half and curl ends to form antenna
  7. Stick bent end into top of pot. Glue in place.
  8. Glue legs, nose and cheeks in place
