The Hera Marker makes slight creases on fabric that are your sewing guides. Can also be used with carbon paper. Uses no powder, but makes sharp, fine lines.

I have been aware of the Hera Marker for quite some time for marking your quilts but just recently started using it for applique AND for marking a 1/4" to turn under. You mark a 1/4" by scoring your fabric along the edge of a ruler. Works better on a firm but slightly cusioned surface. It creases the fabric and makes it SO easy to turn under. I love it and will be telling everyone so stock up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use for applique I love using the hera for needle turned applique. You can use it to trace around a simple paper pattern on the back of the fabric, no fusible and no glues or sprays. When you're done, the crease makes turning under the seam allowance easy and results in very smooth curves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome marking tool! This is the best way to go when marking for a simple grid quilt pattern...no messy chalk, no lines to remove later..just run this tool down your ruller edge and move on to the next line. A must have for anyone that quilts with a simple grid pattern!
