I am an experienced quilter and have never had a burn on an iron or anything else that I have used. The second time I used this product my finger slipped of of the guard (which only covers the sides of the shaft) and I received a third degree burn on my index finger as it touched the shaft. I am painfully typing this message and will return this product as unsafe. Why didn't they make the guard go all around the shaft? Poor, poor product.
I bought this item for a class. After about 10 minutes it finally heat up. It worked fine during the class, it worked as intended. I put it away and after a few weeks I took it out to finish my project. It does not work, It's dead, I spent over $20 to have an unfinished project and a useless mini iron.
I bought this iron because I had a lot of embroidery designs that needed ironing in between the letters and around the designs. I also bought it for ironing my seams down flat without ironing a huge area such as with a regular-sized iron. It works perfect for these things! I have the setting at the highest. You may have to spray some water on the fabric for getting out tough wrinkles, because it doesn't have a built-in steamer. It does get very hot, though, so you have to be careful not to allow children in the room when using it. In fact, shut the door and lock it because children seem to be a magnet for these things. I also like the guard it has on it to help keep you from burning yourself. However, I wish that it went all the way around
I bought this product because I needed a small iron for my appliques. First of all it does not remove the wrinkles at all, however it is still hot enough to burn the fabric and it doesnt have a protective coat like teflon so actually the fabric will adhere to it. I love Clover producst and this is agreat idea but such a terrible product, You would expect a better quality item for the price you pay, I went ahead and purchased a $24 professional applique iron somewhere else.
I got the iron like a month or two back and i waited for a little while to get hot and the i started ironing. First i treated it as a regular iron and moved it kind of quick, I saw no wrinkle decrease, then i tried very slow on the fabric it made a little difference but not much i can never get a full wrinkle out.
Many of my friends have the mini iron for working on/making miniatures. I went to a Joann's store to buy when and saw this new product. The interchangable tips are a great idea. It works very well and is very versatile. I highly recommend it!
I bought mine because I needed something small enough to press my seams together when I quilt. This works GREAT! It does get very hot though, which is nice & keeps the seams presses. The only problem is that the tip does need cleaning after many uses.
