      • Note: Pattern is written for smallest size with changes for larger sizes in parentheses. When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes. To follow pattern more easily, circle all numbers pertaining to the size before beginning.

      • GAUGE:
      • 11 sts + 17 rows = 4" (10cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS).
      • BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE

      • STITCH EXPLANATION:
      • M1 (make 1) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal strand lying between needles and placing it onto left needle. Knit this new stitch through the back loop – 1 st increased.

      DIRECTIONS:

        • PATTERN STITCH
        • K1, p1 Rib worked in rnds (worked over an even number of sts)
        • Rnd 1: *K1, p1; rep from * to end of rnd.
        • Rep Rnd 1 for K1, p1 Rib worked in rnds.

        • NOTES:
        • Slipover is worked in 2 pieces, Front and Back.
        • Each piece is worked sideways in intarsia colorwork, following chart(s) and using a separate ball of yarn for each section of color.
        • Twist yarns on WS to prevent holes. Do not carry unused color(s) across WS of work.
        • When following charts, work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) and read RS chart rows from right to left and WS chart rows from left to right.
        • Separate charts are provided for each size – be sure to follow the correct chart for the size desired.
        • Edgings at armhole, neck and lower edge are worked from sts picked up on assembled Slipover.

        • BACK
        • With straight needles cast on as follows: 12 sts with C, 12 sts with E, 12 sts with F, 12 sts with B, 12 sts with D, and 2 (4, 6) sts with A – 62 (64, 66) sts.
        • Working in St st (k on RS, p on WS) and beginning with a RS (knit) row, work Back Chart Rows 1 and 2.
        • Shape Shoulder
        • Continue in St st and colorwork following Back Chart, and AT THE SAME TIME shape shoulder as follows:
        • Row 3 (RS): K1, M1, k to end of row – 63 (65, 67) sts.
        • Row 4: Purl.
        • Following chart, rep the last 2 rows 9 (11, 13) more times – 72 (76, 80) sts.
        • Work 2 (4, 6) rows even in St st, changing colors following Back Chart.
        • Place marker (pm) at right edge of last row to mark beg of Neck.
        • Shape Neck
        • Work 2 more rows even in St st, changing colors following Back Chart.
        • Continue in St st and colorwork following Back Chart, and AT THE SAME TIME shape neck as follows:
        • Row 27 (33, 39) (RS): K1, k2tog, k to end of row – 71 (75, 79) sts.
        • Row 28 (34, 40): Purl.
        • Rep the last 2 rows twice more – 69 (73, 77) sts.
        • Work 18 (22, 26) rows even in St st, changing colors following Back Chart.
        • Continue in St st and colorwork following Back Chart, and AT THE SAME TIME shape neck as follows:
        • Row 51 (61, 71) (RS): K1, M1, k to end of row – 70 (74, 78) sts.
        • Row 52 (62, 72): Purl.
        • Rep the last 2 rows twice more – 72 (76, 80) sts.
        • Pm at right edge of last row to mark end of neck.
        • Shape Second Shoulder
        • Work 4 (6, 8) rows even in St st, changing colors following Back Chart.
        • Continue in St st and colorwork following Back Chart, and AT THE SAME TIME shape shoulder as follows:
        • Row 61 (73, 85) (RS): K1, k2tog, k to end of row – 71 (75, 79) sts.
        • Row 62 (74, 86): Purl.
        • Rep the last 2 rows 9 (11, 13) more times – 62 (64, 66) sts.
        • Work 2 rows even in St st, changing colors following Back Chart.
        • Bind off all sts.

        • FRONT
        • With straight needles cast on as follows: 12 sts with C, 12 sts with B, 12 sts with E, 12 sts with F, 12 sts with D, and 2 (4, 6) sts with A – 62 (64, 66) sts.
        • Working in St st (k on RS, p on WS) and beginning with a RS (knit) row, work Front Chart Rows 1 and 2.
        • Shape Shoulder
        • Following Front Chart for color changes, work same as for Back up to ‘Shape Neck’ – 72 (76, 80) sts.
        • Shape Neck
        • Work 2 more rows even in St st, changing colors following Front Chart.
        • Continue in St st and colorwork following Front Chart, and AT THE SAME TIME beg shape neck as follows:
        • Row 27 (33, 39) (RS): K1, k2tog, k to end of row – 71 (75, 79) sts.
        • Row 28 (34, 40): Purl.
        • Rep the last 2 rows 5 more times – 66 (70, 74) sts.
        • Work 6 (10, 14) rows even in St st, changing colors following Front Chart.
        • Continue in St st and colorwork following Front Chart, and AT THE SAME TIME shape neck as follows:
        • Row 45 (55, 65) (RS): K1, M1, k to end of row – 67 (71, 75) sts.
        • Row 46 (56. 66): Purl.
        • Rep the last 2 rows 5 more times – 72 (76, 80) sts.
        • Shape Second Shoulder
        • Following Front Chart for color changes, shape second shoulder same as for Back – 62 (64, 66) sts.
        • Bind off all sts.

        • FINISHING:
        • Sew Front and Back tog at shoulders.
        • Place markers on Front and Back 9 (10, 11)" (23 (25.5, 28) cm) below shoulder seams for armhole edging.
        • Armhole Edging
        • From RS, with straight needles and H, pick up and k57 (61, 65) sts evenly spaced along left armhole between markers.
        • Row 1 (WS): P1, *k1, p1; rep from * to end of row.
        • Row 2: K1, k2tog, p1, *k1, p1; rep from * to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1 – 55 (59, 63) sts.
        • Row 3: P2, k1, *p1, k1; rep from * to last 2 sts, p2.
        • Row 4: K1, p2tog, *k1, p1; rep from * to last 4 sts, k1, p2tog, k1 – 53 (57, 61) sts.
        • Rows 5-7: Rep rows 1-3 – 51 (55, 59) sts.
        • Bind off.
        • With A, rep edging on opposite armhole.
        • Sew side seams including armhole edging.
        • Neck Edging
        • From RS, with shorter circular needle and B, and beg at either shoulder seam, pick up and k62 (64, 68) sts evenly spaced around neck edge. Pm for beg of rnd and join by working the first st on the left hand needle with the working yarn from the right hand needle.
        • Knit 2 rnds, then bind off all sts.
        • Lower Edge
        • From RS, with longer circular needle and D, and beg at either side seam, pick up and k138 (168, 198) sts evenly spaced around lower edge of Slipover. Pm for beg of rnd and join.
        • Work in K1, p1 Rib worked in rnds for 7 rnds.
        • Bind off in rib.

        • Weave in ends.
