SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Set of 9 Miniature canvases
  • Acrylic paints: yellow, orange, deep red, burnt sienna, white
  • Gloss medium
  • Squeeze bottle
  • 1" Paintbrush

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Following manufacturer's directions, mix the 5 colors of paint, creating 5 total paint shades graduating from deep red to yellow. Paint each canvas with 2 coats of paint to assure proper coverage. Refer to photo when painting the canvases. Let dry.
  2. In squeeze bottle, mix white paint with some yellow and orange paint, plus gloss medium.
  3. Lay canvases together, forming a square, without spaces between each canvas. Using paint mixture in squeeze bottle, decorate canvases with a swirl pattern. Separate canvases during drying.
  4. Hang canvases in same orientation as painted, space about 1" apart or as desired.

Few changes

I read the directions, and made a few modifications. Instead of using 9 4"X4" canvases, I chose to use 4 10"X10" canvases. I also used shades of blue rather than red; as they matched my decor better. Finally, I used swirls of both white and navy for increased detail. Everything looks gorgeous! I can't believe how easy the project was.
