DIRECTIONS:

PILLOW #1 - Flying Geese

  1. Cut 1 one 16" fabric square for pillow back. Cut remaining fabric along printed lines to form strips.
  2. From each fabric pattern strip, cut one 4-3/4"x8-1/2" rectangle and two 4-3/4" squares.
  3. On wrong side of each square, draw a diagonal line connecting opposite corners. Mixing up fabric designs and with wrong sides together, place a square along one end of rectangle. Stitch along drawn line. Trim off outside corner of rectangle. Gently press remaining triangle to outside. Repeat for other end of rectangle to form flying geese block. (Extra fabric has been added to pieces to allow for distortion. At this point, square up block to measure 4-1/2"x8-1/2").
  4. Stitch two flying geese units together. Make four units. Stitch units together, turning pieces as desired.
  5. Stitch pillow top and back together, leaving an opening for turning. Stitch across each corner to form a "boxed" like effect.
  6. Turn, stuff with pillow form. Stitch opening.

PILLOW #2 - Strips

  1. Cut one 18-1/2" square from fabric for back. Cut remaining fabric along printed fabric lines to form strips. Cut six 3-1/2x18-1/2 strips.
  2. Using quarter inch seam allowance and right sides together, stitch strips together. Press seam allowances to one side.
  3. With right sides together, stitch pieced pillow top to back leaving an opening for turning. Turn, stuff with pillow form and stitch opening.

PILLOW #3 - Striped Blocks

  1. Cut one 20-1/2" square from for pillow back. Cut one 10-1/2" x width of fabric strip. Keeping two fabric patterns together, cut along printed fabric lines to form 4 squares.
  2. Stitch two squares together turning one square perpendicular to the other. Repeat with remaining squares. Stitch units together.
  3. With right sides together, stitch pieced pillow top to pillow back leaving an opening for turning.
  4. Turn, stuff with pillow form and stitch opening together.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Answer: Speciality fabric used The trick for making these pillows is in purchasing the TANZANIA RUNNING 8THS FABRICS to make these pillows. JoAnn sells it. Just put the capitolized above name fabric in the lookup section. Then, everything will make sense and unconfuse the confused. Then, give it a try in making the pillows after purchasing the speciality fabric for making these pillows. That should solve the problem and make sense to all....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Is something missing? I printed out the instructions, but became confused when it states "Cut remaining fabric along printed lines to form strips." Shouldn't there be a pattern, or am I just ignorant to these instructions?
