Costume Satin Fabric is rated 3.25 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from It is OK So I used this to make a Jane Austen costume for a friend and it did work but the edges kept unravleing. It drove me nuts I ended up using a lighter to burn all the edges and seams for when I was working until I did a hem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Best used for lining I've used this fabric for about 15 years. It has the type of shine you'd expect of a cheap circus clown costume, and is not very easy to iron. Too hot of heat, and you'll melt it. Not hot enough, and you won't make a difference. I only ever use this fabric to line coats when silk isn't desired, or to back fancier lap-quilts. Any outfits made with this WILL look like a cheap costume. If that's what you're looking for, you'll be happy. If you expect semi-decent costume or better, go for a different satin, such as the Casa bridal satin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yes, this stuff frays like crazy and is super slippery, so it's a pain to work with. BUT... if you're careful, take your time, and line your project so that unfinished edges aren't exposed... it's fantastic in the end! It has a nice shine, great drape, and has proven to be very durable. My 4-year-old *frequently* wears the super hero cape I made from this, and it still looks great, even after washing and rough-housing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from takes some care, but results were nice I used this fabric because I was on a budget and needed a liner material for a costume capelet with hood and this was on sale. It does fray a lot, but I found that with minimal handling prior to using it, that it turned out great. And this was the first time I'd ever used the stuff, too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from flower girl dresses I use this fabric all the time. When it comes to formal dresses. I have sew many many dresses, using this fabric. And I love it!!! Easy to work with when using the right size needle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I have used this product for years. It is easy to work with and is an excellent value. As with all satin, using a narrow zigzag stitch on all seams prevents the fraying that users are complaining about.

Rated 0 out of 5 by from Fray City. Just awful. This fabric frays so badly, it can't even be sewn. Literally, comes apart at the seams with even the slightest pressure, regardless of sewing machine or needles.
