- Large-eyed blunt needle

Row 1: Work 2 dc in 3rd ch from hook, sk next 2 ch, *(sc, 2 dc) in next ch, sk next 2 ch; rep from * across, sc in last ch.
Row 2: Ch 2, turn, 2 dc in first st, sk next 2 sts, *(sc, 2 dc) in next st, sk next 2 sts; rep from * across, sc in top of turning ch.
Rep Row 2 for Textured St.
Ch 108. Beg with Row 1, work in Textured St until piece measures 28 in. (72 cm) from beg. Fasten off.
Beg in top corner of Hood, ch 4.
Row 1: Work 2 dc in 4th ch from hook.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), turn, 2 dc in first st, dc in next st, 3 dc in top of turning ch – 7 dc (including turning ch) at end of row.
Row 3: Ch 3, turn, dc in first st, dc in each st across to turning ch, 2 dc in top of turning ch – 9 dc at end of row.
Row 4: Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in first st, dc in each st across to turning ch, 3 dc in top of turning ch – 13 dc at end of row.
Rows 5-16: Rep Rows 3 and 4 six times – 49 dc at end of row.
Last Row (Hood Edging): Work Row 2 of Textured St. Fasten off.
With RS facing, pin Hood over one corner of Blanket, matching edges.
Join yarn with sl st in any corner of Blanket.
Work Row 2 of Textured St evenly spaced around entire outside edge of Blanket, working through both thicknesses when working Hood corner and working (sc, 2 dc) in each corner of Blanket; join with sl st in top of beg ch.
Fasten off. Weave in ends.
