  • White plain coffee mugs (2)
  • Sheet of big font adhesive letters 1" tall
  • Package of Sharpie™ markers
  • Dabber sponge brushes (3)
  • Different colors of acrylic paint (2-3)


  1. Make sure coffee mug is clean and dry.
  2. Place adhesive letters on the front side of the cup. Rub them firmly in place.
  3. Using 2-3 different Sharpie™ markers scribble across the letters, making sure to fill in the tight areas to show detail when the letters are pulled off.
  4. Allow the mug to dry for about 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the adhesive letters.
  6. Bake the mug in an oven for 30 minutes on 250 degrees.
  7. Painted mug- Make sure your coffee mug is clean and dry.
  8. Place adhesive letters on the front side of the cup. Rub them firmly in place.
  9. Using the sponge dabbers, lightly press the dabbers evenly in the paint and then onto the coffee mug. Place the dots randomly.
  10. Allow the dots to dry between applying different colors so that they don’t smear.
  11. Switch colors to create interest.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing We used the sharpies, and after baking it as directed, the ink wiped off with a damp cloth. My husband had used it and I forgot to take pictures first so I was wiping a coffee drip off of the side
