Darice Spring Tension Hoop 5 is rated 4.4286 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Should have stuck with the wooden one I bought this hoop thinking the metal tension hoop would be easier to manage than the old wooden type -- just the opposite. In addition, I accidentally looped my thread over the arms of the hoop numerous times, not realizing until I'd taken a few more stitches so couldn't easily remedy it. Just stick to the wooden one is my suggestion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best I've Ever Found I've embroidered or cross-stitched since my first project in Girl Scouts in third grade, more than 35 years ago. I found these hoops in Germany about 22 years ago, and I wouldn't trade them for anything! I've purchased at least two of every size my Jo-Ann store had when mine were misplaced during a move. I've use them for every needlework project I've done since then, whether it was cross-stitch on Aida cloth, or Christmas decorations on burlap. Never have they failed to hold the fabric taut. And because they are so easy to use, I'm more apt to remove the hoop from the cloth between stitching periods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Last hoop you'll ever buy! This is the one and only hoop for cross stitching! It doesn't hurt or pull the aida fabric like regular hoops do. It's super simple and easy to use and it holds your fabric tight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps fabric tight! I bought this product six years ago and I STILL use it. It keeps the fabric tight and does not slip. All you need to do it pinch the handles and let go, no thumb screwing to mess with. The price is excellent because you'll use this for years to come and prefer it over all other hoops! I'm going to Joann's tonight to buy the other sizes now that I've moved on to larger projects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST HOOP This is the best hoop I've ever found. The material doesn't slip constantly. It's been a long time finding these again. When I went into Joanne's I bought 3 of each size just so I wouldn't be without them again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank Heavens These hoops are the only reason I gave cross-stitch a second chance. They are so much easier to use than those clumsy thumb-screw wooden ones, plus they don't splinter! Since they are easy to remove, I get fewer creases in my work too.
