Description

Supplies & Tools:
  • Denim apron
  • 9 colored zippers: six 12", three 9"
  • 5 fat quarters: lime green, light purple, dark purple, turquoise, pink
  • 3 fat quarters: lime green for binding
  • Scissors
  • Coordinating thread
  • Sewing machine

Directions:
1. For zippered pockets, cut a 9"x20" piece each of purple and pink. Fold each in half lengthwise.

2. Place cut edges of dark purple along bottom of apron. Baste outside edges; leave top fold edge open.

3. Cut 3 1/2" green strip, fold under 1/2" on long side & edgestitch above the purple, leaving pocket open.

4. Leave a 1 1/2" stripe of denim. Cut a 2" strip of turquoise & fold under 1/2". Place cut edge of pink pocket stripe under the top edge and edge stitch only the turquoise, leaving top open.

5. Leave 1" gap of denim. Continue with: 2 1/4" light purple, 4 1/2" turquoise, 3/4" denim, 3 1/4" green, 1/2" denim, 1 3/4" pink, 1" denim, 2 1/4" turquoise, 1/4" denim & 3" light purple.

6. Cut 80" of 2 1/2"-wide bias of lime green. Finish all edges.

7. Open pink zipper, place the pull at the corner of the top of the apron. Stitch one side of zipper to top edge of apron & one side to the strap.

8. Open turquoise zipper, place the pull at the other corner. Stitch one side to the strap and the other side to the armhole edge.

9. Stitch a 9" & two 12" zippers vertically toward top of apron.

10. From the right edge, stitch one edge of a green zipper to the open edge only of the pink pocket.

11. Repeat with the turquoise zipper from the left side of the bottom purple pocket.

12. Edge stitch all layers of the remaining pink and purple pocket tops.

13. Stitch top edge of both zippers.

14. Add remaining zippers, stitch in place.
