Glass Container Basket

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Cotton fabric remnants
  • Thick cotton clothesline
  • Large glass cylindrical vase
  • Scissors
  • Adhesive – Amazing Goop

 

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Rip fabric in 2”x15”(ish) strips.
  2. Wrap fabric strips around cord, gluing the ends.
  3. Glue wrapped portion to glass vase starting at the bottom.
  4. Continue to wrap fabric around cord and attach to vase all the way up.
  5. Cut excess cord off.

Ottoman

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1 3/4 yd circle print  home dec fabric (minimum of 55” wide print) *
    • Note *fabric amounts may vary according to print repeat
  • 3 1/3 yds contrasting cording
  • Three 17” round pieces of 4” deep foam
  • 12” Velcro
  • Sewing machine
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Iron and pressing surface
  • Paper for pattern

DIRECTIONS:  (all seams 1/2”)

  1. Make an 18” circle pattern out of the paper.
  2. Cut one circle from print, centering the circle for the top.
  3. Fold pattern in half and add 1 1/2” to straight edge.
  4. Cut two of the semi circle pieces for the bottom.
  5. Fold in 1 ½” on each straight edge and center Velcro on each half to form bottom of ottoman.
  6. Cut one 13” X 56” piece of print for side.
  7. Sew short edge of side piece.
  8. Stitch cording to top and bottom circles.
  9. Stitch top to side “tube”.
  10. Repeat with bottom.
  11. Turn right side out.
  12. Add foam circles one at a time.
  13. Close bottom

Painted Table

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Table
  • Spray Primer
  • Acrylic paint (coordinate with design elements in room)
  • Pencil
  • Assorted paint brushes (Large Flat & Detail brushes)
  • Water & paper towels – clean up
  • Newspaper – protect work surface

 

DIRECTIONS:

Read through the directions before starting & use the photo as a guide.

  1. Lay out newspaper to protect work surface.
  2. Spray the entire surface of the table with white spray primer (follow directions on can, spray in ventilated area)
  3. Using a pencil draw a pattern on the top of the table.
  4. Paint in the design with coordinating paints.
  5. Paint around the design elements with black paint. Embellish with white & black details to clean up the edges.

Papercrafted Wall Hanging

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Foam core board – 20”x30”
  • 6mm Black Craft Foam Sheet
  • 2/3 yd Black distressed leather fabric
  • Variety Cardstock Pack
  • Templates – enlarge or reduce as desired
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Xacto knife
  • Glue stick
  • Ruler
  • Spray Adhesive
  • Tacky glue

 

DIRECTIONS:

Read through the directions before starting & use the photo as a guide.

  1. Spray the foam core board with a thin layer of spray adhesive, lay fabric over board leaving enough to bring around the edges to the back.  Glue fabric edges to the back with tacky glue.
  2. Cut out the pieces from the template from the 6mm craft foam with an Xacto knife.
  3. Determine the colors desired for each shape or follow the photo as a guide. Use  glue stick to apply glue to the card stock and glue down the craft foam. Cut around the foam so the paper is the same shape.
  4. Measure out the center point, place the dot in the center and lay out the remaining pieces according to the photo.
  5. Once they are all laid out glue them in place with a glue stick and allow to dry. Cut off any pieces hanging off the edge of the foam board with an Xacto blade.

Floor cloth

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 2 yd outdoor fabric in black and white print
  • Fabri-Tac adhesive
  • Assortment pack of Sharpie marker colors
  • Drop cloth
  • Iron and pressing surface

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Trim fabric to neat rectangle.  Keep the scraps.
  2. Place fabric on pressing surface right side down, fold the selvedges and raw ends toward the back and press. 
  3. Place fabric on drop cloth face down and apply some Fabri-Tac under the folded edges to hold the fabric in place.
  4. When the glue is dry turn right side up on the drop cloth.
  5. Try the Sharpie markers on the scrap fabric to see what colors will be used on the floor cloth.  Once the colors are determined, color in the designs near the ends of the floor cloth to make a decorative finish.
  6. When needed, the floor cloth can be easily washed in a standard washing machine.

Bird Pillow

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 5/8 yd bird print fabric
  • One skein each: aqua, green, gold, orange & cream embroidery floss
  • Chenille needle
  • 18” pillow form
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine
  • Iron and pressing surface

DIRECTIONS:  (all seams 1/2”)

  1. Cut one 19” square for front –placing bird in desired spot.
  2. Cut two pcs 12 1/2” X 19” for envelope back.
  3. Using all six strands, highlight embroider desired parts of bird.
  4. Finish one 19” edge of each back piece.
  5. Place pillow front face up and overlap both back pieces, right sides together and finished edges to center.
  6. Stitch all four sides.
  7. Turn right side out & press.

Pillow with Gold Studs

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1/2 yd Red fabric with gold embroidery
  • 2 packages of 3/8” round gold studs with prongs
  • 16” pillow form
  • Sewing machine
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Iron and pressing surface

DIRECTIONS:  (all seams 1/2”)

  1. From fabric cut one 17” square for front and two pieces 12”X17” for envelope back.
  2. Determine where to accent pillow front with studs and install.
  3. Finish one 17” edge of each back piece.
  4. Place pillow front face up and overlap both back pieces, right sides together, finished edges to center.
  5. Stitch all four sides.
  6. Turn right side out & press.

Zig  Zag Print Pillow

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 5/8 yd Zigzag  print Home Dec fabric
  • One skein each gold and red embroidery floss
  • Chenille needle
  • 18” pillow form
  • Sewing machine
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Iron and pressing surface

DIRECTIONS:  (all seams 1/2”)

  1. Cut one 19” square for front and cut two pieces 12 1/2”X18” for envelope back.
  2. Using all six strands, highlight embroider desired parts (red on gold, gold on red).
  3. Finish one 19” edge of each back piece.
  4. Place pillow front face up and overlap both back pieces, rightt sides together and finished edges to center.
  5. Stitch all four sides.
  6. Turn right side out & press.
