Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too Flimsy I purchased one and will return it. I have a metal one, so I will just purchase another one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap, no good You get what you pay for. I had a similiar one in the past and I ordered this online not realizing that the stem was made of flimsy plastic. When I sew the stem bends and the base slides all over. My brother-in-law made me one with a wooden base and dowel with screw cup-hook and it works better than this. What a waste of money. The one I previously owned had a heavier base and metal stem so I thought it was the same quality. I needed a second one for a second machine. I'm getting rid of it. If I would have purchased at the store I would be bringing it back. Cost to much to ship back. Make your own or make sure it is made with heavier material.

Rated 0 out of 5 by from Flimsy - lightweight Poorly made. The base has absolutely no weight and slides all around easily on your table when sewing. Spool pin in base too loose and unable to secure. The tall thread holder would not stand up strait - even after tightening the screw as tight as possible. Complete junk. In the end, I purchased a heavy solid base - completely metal holder. Definitely the way to go - and worth the expense for ZERO headache!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice stand There is a screw on the side of the base. Loosen it up and insert the large end and tighten up the screw

Rated 0 out of 5 by from Total JUNK! More flimsy than a kid's plastic toy. The spool pin doesn't fit into the hole - at all. The flimsy tall thread guide also wouldn't go into the hole. The base is not heavy like it should be. JoAnn's and Dritz should be ashamed to have such a junky product. Totally useless. I'm returning it and making my own. It is easy enough and free. >:(

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cheap, But It Works! This thread holder does what it's suppose to do, do I wish that it was sturdier construction but for the money this thing really does work! A Real bargain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Received as gift When I got this as a gift, I couldn't get the spindle to go in the hole either. However, I solved the problem by tapping it gently with a small hammer. It is now inserted tightly and I have no problem with it at all.

Rated 0 out of 5 by from Useless This can't even be put together, because the spindle is too large for the hole it should go in. The thread guide is has a rough surface where the thread is supposed to glide over. All lightweight plastic that probably wouldn't even stay upright if you could put it together.
