DRESS FORM
THIS IS HORRIBLE, EXPENSIVE, AND CHEAP FEEL MADE. I AM SO SAD I CAN'T RETURN IT, DO NOT BUY IT , TRUST ME...... THE MANUAL OF HOW TO USE IT, IT IS OUTDATE AND CONFUSING....... DISAPPOINTED. I GOT FOR A HOMEWORK THINKING IT WOULD MAKE IT EASIER... DIDN'T WORK AT ALL AND YES I AM SCREAMING!!!!!!

Not worth it
The way that this is made, it's difficult to get pins in properly, which makes everything fall off and it'll take me like 30 min to adjust a garment. It's also the smallest size they have, but the smallest dimensions are 34-28-36! That's huge on me and I regret buying it.

Garbage
This is the cheapest dressmaking item I have ever had the misfortune to touch.
1. It doesn't extend more than 5'6" (I'm 5'8")
2. It doesn't allow a simple shift (zipperless dress) to be draped on it because the shoulders are too wide to get the garment in place.
3. It is mostly plastic, even the wingnuts!
4. The height keeps shrinking because of #3. (They don't hold.)
5. It wobbles.
6. I will be returning it ASAP. Garbage garbage garbage. Don't waste your money.
7. I am SHOCKED that this item is so highly rated.

Great Dressform
I used this to make a couple of shirts for my granddaughter who lives in another state. The shirts fit her perfectly. It was a great help with my sewing project!

Great, I’m just too little
It’s a great dress form really, I’m just too small for it. I thought it would be okay since I as right at the smallest sizes it goes to, but I can’t get it to be my size truly.

Easy to use form with some minor adjustments
Easy to set up and use. Over-all the adjustments are good, but there is no way to adjust the under bust and bust sizes to both be accurate. I followed other people’s suggestions and put a bra on the form to get the bust to the right dimensions and it is working beautifully.

First Impression Mediocre
I purchased this dressform today. First impressions are mediocre at best. The form itself is quite lightweight, the body being made entirely out of plastic, adjustment pieces and all. The only metal are a set of four thin support beams within the form, and the metal stand. I am very short, but a little overweight. This was the only retail dressform I could find that was both short enough to match my torso length, and could be made wide enough to match my measurements.
The stand can be placed either in the center of the form, or to the side to facilitate pants fitting. It is not particularly difficult to loosen the stand mount and change it from one mount position to the other. The measurements along the stand are painted on in black paint that chips off at the slightest scratch, including moving the adjustable hem marker. That paint is not sealed at all.
The dressform itself, again, is made practically exclusively out of plastic, including the adjustment wheels and threads. The wheels are shaped like gears, and oriented vertically. Turning them will move the parts of the form along a horizontal threaded bar. While the wheels were not hard to adjust on my form right out of the box, they do not seem particularly durable, and any resistance will mean sore fingers. I would definitely recommend trying to adjust areas around the form, most particularly dials across from each other, evenly.
The nylon cover, supposedly foam backed, is extremely thin, and feels like it may begin to pill quite quickly. Any pins placed in the dressform have to be stuck along that nylon. It is very easy to place pins at too much of a direct angle and catch the plastic. It is attached to the form with glue, and the inside of the form is covered in perpetually very sticky glue that surrounds the perimeter of the fabric edges by at least three or four inches, often as much as a foot.
Set into the top of the neck is a piece of thick foam for storing pins, black like the form's plastic. It is not fastened down at all, and pops out every time a pin is pulled from it. The foam has no problem holding pins firmly in place, but but does not recover from any hole poked in it.
The dressform comes with a wooden, painted finial, which can be screwed into the neck with the provided screw after a cap where the finial goes is removed. I have not attached the finial myself, however I noticed the bag the finial was in had a number of small wood flakes and splinters from the unpainted bottom and inside of the piece.
My dressform came with the bar that holds the pin hem marker. However, there was no actual pin hem marker in the box. Dritz does not have a separate pin hem marker listed on their website, therefore I believe the piece, which is both pictured and listed in the product description on Joann's website and Dritz's, is simply missing from my box. I will likely have to completely exchange my dress form in order to get the missing piece.
In all, I find the quality of the materials and construction on the My Double Deluxe Dressform quite disappointing for its price. The advantage of being nearly all plastic is that it is quite lightweight and easy to move around. It is easy to collapse and replace in the box, and then reassemble again. There are only six separate pieces including the finial. Should the range of measurements fit you, and you treat it very, very gently, it is certainly functional. Due to the build quality, I would not suggest purchasing this dressform at anywhere near full price. I do not recommend paying any more than a hundred for it if you can wait for a coupon and purchase it in store or at a steep online discount.
