Wouldn't purchase again

Reviewer: jill, 11/24/2011

I have had four of these now (I need a small, med and large) and use them daily. I am searching for alternatives now, as these do NOT LAST. My first one fell apart (welds and gears) within a month, the manufacture replaced it, and the second fell apart within 3 months. the plastic screws don't hold, the dials work hard, and then break. I know that you get what you pay for, but this is not even worth the sale price. My large and small have held up only because I rarely use them!!

Good Product, Good Price!

This is a nice dress form, especially for the price! Dritz is a well-known company and they've done well with this particular product. It is easy to assemble and set up; and it is easy to use. Perhaps not as sturdy as a professional dress form, but also not as costly! Thank you Dritz.

This is not a quality product

Reviewer: Chelle, 06/29/2011

I bought this dress form to design dresses for myself. I have had so much trouble from it. First, it tips over easily there's not much weight to it. Second, there's no cushion so putting pins in is impossible. The dials are so haaarrrdddd to turn, to the point of hurting your fingers. The stand at the bottom is 3 separate rods that kept falling off each time I moved it. I had to crazy glue them on to get them to stay; so much for storing it in a tight place. This is not a quality product and is not worth the price I paid.

Best for the price

I do a lot of formal sewing - big crinoline or hoop skirt type and design a lot of details. I am able to create without someone being there constantly to make sure it fits. I have both sizes in this dress form and the full figure regular dress form. I would not be without them. While I love these forms, I have found problems. Because of the weight of the dresses I sew, I have found the height screw unreliable and had to drill holes in the leg and use cotter pins to hold them up. Also for bust and waist changes, I use a tight fitting strech camisole and fit in bust enhancers and sometimes wrap a towel under the camisole. For regular dresses and pants, these can't be beat!

Great for alterations, bad for serious draping.

Reviewer: Anonymous, 08/14/2009

Great product, but not too good if you want to do major draping on it. There is no "cushion" to press pins through, and it made it impossible to hold anything on the form. I would recommend this product if your only doing alterations. When i received this product i was a little disappointed, it felt very cheep and flimsy, the plastic felt like it could break easily, so i had to be very careful when adjusting the size. I am sticking to profession dress forms from now on.

I love this dress form. I bought it recently and find it so much easier to make dresses now. Its so difficult to put darts in a strapless dress on your own. I did have to pad the bust to get the right match, but this was easily accomplished with some spare batting and an old bra. I am very happy with the product.

dritz dress form

Reviewer: Anonymous, 11/13/2008

I had several forms by this company. The design of the body was changed aabout 5-7 years ago to make the bust look flat. That is the biggest minus to it. Second minus - the dials , which sometimes are hard to move and if the dress form accidentaly falls they broke so easily. After that , they could not be repaired. It's Ok when you don't need to adjust the size. The plus is that it so far the best form on the market. Others are even harder to use, especially if you work with fitted costumes, like dance outfits.

I have trouble with it tipping over, The dials break and I have only had it less than 2 years
