NOTE:

To join colors, work to last 2 loops on hook of first color. Draw new color through last 2 loops and proceed.

DIRECTIONS:

BACK
**Ribbing: With C, ch 9.
1st row: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. Sl st in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 8 sts.
2nd row: Ch 1. Working in back loops only, sl st in each sl st to end of row. Turn.
Rep last row until Ribbing, when slightly stretched, measures 12 (13-14-15)" [30.5 (33-35.5-38) cm]. Do not fasten off.
Foundation row: (RS). With C, ch 1. Working across long edge of Ribbing, work 51 (55-59-63) sc evenly across. Turn.
1st row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Ch 1. Skip next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. Skip next sc. Rep from * to last 2 sts. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Ch 1. Skip next sc. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * to last 2 sts. Ch 1. Skip next sc. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
Last 2 rows form pat.
Work a further 2 rows pat, joining A at end of last row.
With A, work 6 rows in pat, joining C at end of last row.

Last 12 rows form Body Stripe Pat.
Cont in Body Stripe Pat until work from lower edge of Ribbing measures 8 (8ó-9ó-11)" [20.5 (21.5-24-28) cm], ending on a WS row.
Shape armholes: Next row: (RS). Ch 1. Sl st in each of first 3 (3-5-5) sts. Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as last sl st. Pat to last 2 (2-4-4) sts. Turn.
Leave rem sts unworked. 47 (51-51-55) sts rem.**
Cont even in Body Stripe Pat until armhole measures 5ó (6-6ó-7)" [14 (15-16.5-18) cm], ending on a WS row. Fasten off.

FRONT
Work from ** to ** as given for Back.
Cont even in Body Stripe Pat until armhole measures 3ó (4-4ó-5)" [9 (10-11.5-12.5) cm], ending on a WS row

Shape neck: 1st row: (RS). Ch 1. Pat across 13 (14-14-15) sts. Sc2tog (neck edge). Turn.
Leave rem sts unworked.
2nd row: Ch 1. Sc2tog. Pat to end of row. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 1. Pat to last 2 sts. Sc2tog. Turn.
4th row: As 2nd row. 11 (12-12-13) sts rem. Cont even in Body Stripe Pat until armhole measures same length as Back, ending on a WS row. Fasten off.
1st row: (RS). Skip next 17 (19-19-21) sts. Join appropriate color to next st. Ch 1. Sc2tog over same st as last sl st and next st. Pat to end of
row. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 1. Pat to last 2 sts. Sc2tog. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 1. Sc2tog. Pat to end of row. Turn.
4th row: As 2nd row. 11 (12-12-13) sts rem. Cont even in Body Stripe Pat until armhole measures same length as Back, ending on a WS row. Fasten off.

SLEEVES
Sleeve Stripe Pat
With A, work 2 rows pat.
With B, work 2 rows pat.
These 4 rows form Sleeve Stripe Pat.
Note: Carry colors not in use loosely up side of work.

Ribbing: With B, ch 9.
1st row: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. Sl st in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 8 sts.
2nd row: Ch 1. Working in back loops only, sl st in each sl st to end of row. Turn.
Rep last row until Ribbing, when slightly stretched, measures 7ó (8-8-8ó)" [19 (20.5-20.5-21.5) cm]. Do not fasten off.
Foundation row: (RS). With B, ch 1. Working across long edge of Ribbing, work 33 (35-37-39) sc evenly across. Turn.
1st row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Ch 1. Skip next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * to end of row.
Join A. Turn.
Proceed in Sleeve Stripe Pat, AT SAME TIME, inc 1 st each end of next and following 4th rows until there are 43 (47-51-55) sts, taking inc sts into pat.
Cont even in Sleeve Stripe Pat until work from lower edge of Ribbing measures 8 (10-11-12ó)" [20.5 (25.5-28-32) cm], ending on a WS row. Place markers at each end of last row.
Work a further 2 (2-4-4) rows in pat. Fasten off.

FINISHING:

Sew right shoulder seam.
Neckband: With C, ch 7.
1st row: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. Sl st in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 6 sts.
2nd row: Ch 1. Working in back loops only, sl st in each sl st to end of row. Turn.
Rep last row until Neckband, when slightly stretched, measures length to fit around neck edge. Sew long edge of Neckband in position to neck edge (allowing ease for some stretch).
Sew left shoulder and neckband seam.
Sew in sleeves placing rows above markers along unworked sts of Front and Back to form square armholes. Sew side and sleeve seams matching stripes.
